Twins born a grueling 87 days apart set world record
5 hrs ago Twins always have the same birthday, right? Wrong. Amy and Katie Jones-Elliott from Waterford, Ireland, were born an inconceivable 87 days apart, which has earned them honors from Guinness World Records for the longest interval between twin births. Mom Maria's water broke on June 1, a terrifying four months early, and Amy popped out weighing a minuscule 1 pound, 3 ounces. But Katie stayed put until Aug. 27, when she was finally born. Winning the record sounds fun, but Maria calls the interval "the hardest three months of our lives," explaining that both babies could have died. "Amy was fighting for her life in an incubator and Katie was struggling to survive in my womb." The babies are now doing fine.
