Don't get me wrong, IMO, this woman doesn't need to have any more kids, at the very least due to her own health risks. But it's still her choice, no one else's.

Trixie-you don't sign those papers alone,trust me. She is going to have 2 witnesses. They are going to present 4-6 at a minimum. This was a planned prcedure. Mine was emergency,middle of the night. They did not slack off. Witnesses abound.

I still think that it's the "partner" driving this. Nobody has 7 pregnancies before they are 21 without a lot of intention to do so. I think she totally agreed to the procedure but when the "partner" found out she had to squirm and cast blame. Plus a little medmal money can go a long way to raising a brood.

Grey's you're right, but if her signature is on the page AND her signature was witnessed, she has a huge burden to prove that she was coerced to overcome that. It's not the hospital/doctor that would have to prove that she consented.

Don't know about the UK, but in California, the consent has to be signed at least 30 days before the procedure, and the woman has to be at least 21 at the time she signs. That being said, she is also free to change her mind at any time before it is done, regardless of the fact she signed.
