Okay, so this isn't really news per se any longer but I found at the New Orleans Times Picayune site this flashware animation showing the exact sequence of flooding and what portion of the city went underwater. I was pretty blown away by it even as I've been down there since the flooding because it's nearly the entire city that submerged.
