Teacher of the Year Accused of sex with student
SNELLVILLE, Ga. (AP) -- A woman who had been voted Teacher of the Year at a Gwinnett County high school has resigned amid allegations she had a sexual relationship with a 17-year-old student.
Records obtained by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution show 29-year-old Keenon Aampay Hall left her job as an English teacher at Shiloh High School after being accused of seducing a student who came to her for help with homework.
An investigative file shows the student, who is a graduating senior, claims Hall gave him gifts and pressured him to get her pregnant.
When he declined, the student's family says Hall gave him a failing grade, prompting him to report the relationship to officials.
Gwinnett County officials are investigating.

All of God's children are not beautiful. Most of God's children are, in fact, barely presentable.
But you know how it is, once you are named and shamed, it doesn't matter what really happened, you're fucked from the get go. This reminds me of the story about giving anonymity to accused rapists. You can't erase the stain, even if you're found innocent. Who knows what happened here. The story is pretty short on specifics.

it's much easier to believe a female teacher and a male student. that recent case with the female teacher and the kindergarteners didn't make sense to me at all. she was acquitted but she'll never get past it.
Happens at every high school in America. Probably in the world. (not the specifics involved in this case, but teachers and high school students having an affair in general) Anyone who thinks otherwise is naive.

Oh yeah, totally. It's unfortunate and tragic but at my high school we had several incidents like that. A male history teacher seduced a young boy and he later killed himself. Everyone knew that the history teacher did it but there was no proof, the teacher later resigned.Originally Posted by OrangeSlice
And there was a girl who was seduced by the track coach, she slept with him all throughout junior and senior year, graduated and left it behind her. It was when he started making moves on her little sister, did she come back home and blow the whistle. Brought out all her stored up evidence and got the guy sentenced. He served 2 measly years but at least no one killed themselves.
