There's a story (video) on Foxnews.com talking about a school in Spokan Washington (Adams Elementary) banning tag in the playground. Why? Well, it seems there is an element of cohersion and bullying involved because some kids might not want to play but are forced to be 'it' anyway. They're also worried about lawsuits. A 3rd grader got together a petition asking that the game be allowed and if anyone doesn't play fair, they would be banned, but she refused to go along with that. Some national psychiatrist association agrees it should be banned because it involves the 'potential for victimization'. Go check it out. I have never heard anything so stupid until the end of the story, when they talked about a school (maybe the same one) that does allow football (american) but with a stipulation: NO RUNNING. They can throw the ball but can't run.

So, anyone surprised when I say I fear for the future, particularly the one facing my kids?
