Teen charged with killing mom's boyfriend

A 14-year-old boy has been charged with murder in the stabbing death of his mother's boyfriend Saturday morning, according to the Harris County Sheriff's Office.
The teen's mother and her boyfriend, 33-year-old Juan Contreras, argued at a party, authorities said. Contreras allegedly assaulted and threatened the woman before heading to their far east Houston apartment in the 13900 block of Alderson to collect his belongings.
“He was denied entry to the apartment by the complainant's son,” said Deputy Janie Alvarez-Wagner, a Sheriff's Office spokeswoman.
During an altercation around 7 a.m., the teen used a knife to stab Contreras in the stomach, Alvarez-Wagner said. He died at Lyndon B. Johnson General Hospital.
