Man arrested for tasering 13-year-old student

DENVER -- A man accused of using a Taser gun to hurt a Denver middle school student in an after-school program has been formally charged, the district attorney's office said Wednesday.
Shaun Ellis, 24, has been charged with second-degree assault.
The charge alleges that Ellis, who was working at the school in connection with an after-school program, took a 13-year-old student out of class for disciplinary reasons and then assaulted him with a Taser gun on Jan. 11.
The student told a parent about what happened and that parent reported the incident the next day to the Denver Police Department.
Ellis has been released from custody on a $5,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Denver County Court on March 1 to be formally advised of the charge.
Police would not say what school was involved.

I wish there was more explaination as to what the kid did, although I find it hard to imagine a situation where a taser would be necessary.
