Thumbs down RSPCA hunt man who hurled his dog into the sea

This dramatic picture shows the moment a man hurled one of his dogs into the sea – before dragging it back out again by the scruff of its neck.
Police and the RSPCA are now carrying out an investigation after an onlooker took these shocking photographs.
The witness, who did not want to be named, has handed the series of photos taken in Hove, East Sussex to officers.

The powerfully-built man hurls his dog into the waves off Hove, East Sussex

With both his dogs in the water, the owner then calmly chats on his mobile phone

An onlooker said: 'This guy, who is quite well built, simply picked up one of his dogs and hurled it into the sea.
'I couldn't quite believe what I was seeing. The dog just went flying with its legs out in the air until it hit the water.
'The guy's other dog was already in the sea swimming, but this one had no choice - it was going in whether it liked it or not.'

Unable to scramble out of the water by itself, the man reaches down to grab a hold of the pet dog

The animal can clearly be seen struggling as it is hauled up from the water onto a ledge

The man, whose identity is unknown, is then pictured dragging one of his dogs out of the water by the scruff of its neck before driving off in a silver Peugeot.
Police were called to the seaside at 2.15pm on Saturday.
Sergeant Chris Lane of Sussex Police, said: 'We received a call from a member of the public who had reported two dogs being mistreated.

The dog is then pulled along the ledge, away from the water, by the scruff of its neck

Onlookers watch as the man hoists the dog into the air using only its collar

'Two police cars, one marked and one unmarked, were sent to the scene.
'Unfortunately, however, the suspect had already left when they arrived.'
The RSPCA confirmed one of its investigators is also studying the pictures.
A source said: 'The pictures are quite shocking, but it is unknown whether this man considers it a game and thinks his dogs enjoy it.
'We need to speak to him to clarify the situation.'

Shirt off and with his dogs in tow the man heads back to his car. He had left the seafront before the police arrived

His number plate is in the photo, so shouldn't they be able to track him down, or at least someone who knows him?

HA! That's how my dad taught me to swim. Don't worry folks, the cops will trace him easily from the car rego and the full force of UK law will be brought to bear and he will be let off with a stern warning not to do it again.

Poor dog. It's a miracle the dog wasn't dragged out to sea and drowned. Stupid asshole.
