Yes, we had the same "talk" in 5th grade, and again in 7th grade we had to watch videos about it...her mother has too be about the dumbest woman..but then again who would assume their child is having sex? What made her want to do that?Is this girl more developed than the average 10 year old?

I wouldn't assume that my child is having sex. I have a 9 year old and this truly shocks. But I KNOW my child isn't having sex. I KNOW where my child is at night. I KNOW where he is during the day. How does the mother of a 10 year old not KNOW that her child is having sex? Where the hell is this kid having the sex? Surely the 13 year old father's parents had to give him a ride to the hospital to visit his baby and his baby momma..??? what the hell? Oh my god, I just had this vision of my kid asking me for a ride to the hospital to visit his baby - cause he's too young to drive... he wouldn't be able to afford the dentures he'd need if he pulled that shit neither.

oh and we also had the sex education talk in 5th grade (when girls started getting their periods) and the video in 7th grade when the whores started having sex...

Not sure why people are assuming that the mother was a bad mother -- maybe she was, I don't know, but the girl could have been having sex at the boy's place during the day, or at a park or wherever. Lots of girls older than this one would be clueless if they got pregnant, so I don't find that hard to believe.

As for having sex at 10, it astounds me too, but I'm sure it's been happening for a long, long time. In fact, it happens all the time in countries where girls are married off at a young age or sold to pedophiles or the sex trade. And living in a rough area probably means a lack of education, health care etc., or at least a lack of awareness.

Parents are ultimately responsible for their children, but it's a bit much to constantly blame the parents for everything. There are kids who do what they want despite their parents' best efforts in communities a lot richer than this one.

^^ Yeah, I was wondering the same thing too. Where could they possibly go and have sex? When I was 10, I was either at home or school. I was never out of my parent's sight. That's why I don't want kids just dogs haha

I just don't see how the mother could not be blamed, she is responsible for that child, and yet somehow her 10 year old child had sex, which probably means it wasn't even the first time. So it makes me wonder where was the mother when this happened? And how did she not know? I know she would not think her 10 year old is having sex, HOWEVER...it should be quite obvious that there were changes in her physically and emotionally..and if a mother cannot notice that, then I don't know what to say.
