Sadly enough, English is sometimes becoming the communication language between the different "communities", especially in the academic field.
I'd prefer it if every one could talk in his/her mother tongue (which is IN THEORY what we are granted in the federal administration, although the vast German-speaking majority never respects that rule), instead of talking bad English often with horrible accents.
In touristic places English is usually spoken quite well... I think... how am I really to know?

    Thanks, I stole it

I've been to Athens 3 times (once in 2003 for a whole week, whee ), on the land I've seen the most famous archeological sites like Delphi, Corinthos, Mykenes, Epidauros, Olympia. Then over the years I'll have spent a whole month in Crete, and I've been to lots of islands, Hydra, Santorini, and the Cycladic islands (Mykonos, Naxos, Sifnos, Folegandros, Serifnos, Delos, Kithnos, Kea...: did some trekking on those ).

My Bf has never been to Greece (shame on him), I hope to drag him along in 2006 or 2007, I need to get me some Greece again

Did you like Mykonos? It's not much of an archeological interest but clubbing and stuff..

Mykonos could be paradise on earth... without the tourists, and with normal prices at the restaurants
I'm not much into clubbing when I'm travelling, I am too active visiting during the day to stay up all night.

Mykonos wouldn't be famous if the tourists didn't visited it ;p As for the prices i agree that they are toooooo high! One of the most expensive places in Greece!
