I downloaded David Archuleta's CD from iTunes and love it. My favorite by a mile is Your Eyes Don't Lie. How ironic that it's the one song that David's father, Jeff, apparently faught with Jive not to have on the CD and yet its the one that I think would garner him new fans. Jeff really needs to remove himself from any such discussions, but that's never going to happen.

Yes, Jeff needs to back off. I'm interested to see what happens there once David turns 18. If he had been on Idol this coming year he wouldn't need to have a guardian. I still don't know about the 'stage dad' stuff because Jeff seems nice, but I'm sure he has A LOT of say in what David is doing.

I happen to love the cd too. I hated Crush, but the album songs are great. I like them all really, with the least favourite being 'Don't Let Go'. The next single is Touch My Hand which is good but abit corny lyric-wise if you ask me. I think Eyes Don't Lie should be the next single. It's unlike any song I've heard in awhile.

I don't see a lot changing after David turns 18. I think David genuinely appreciates his father's involvement. I've always thought Jeff, though well intentioned, interfered too much. That said, I do remember David saying during a recent radio interview that it's good to have someone around him who looks out for his best interests because the day will come when everyone else has used him to make money for them, but your family always has your back. I thought that was a very wise and honest observation on his part and it made me understand the dynamic between him and his Dad a lot more.

Your Eyes Don't Lie should definitely be the next single. I was hooked the moment I listened to it. I was surprised many have said it took a while for them to warm to it. It is very different and I think that's why. Me, I like quirky. For those who have yet to hear the song, you must check it out.
