Her death did make her more famous, but she was a celebrity in her own right...especially in Texas.

Did her crazy-ass murderer ever give up on convincing people of her innocence? Seems she was on a talk show a couple years back, claiming that some evidence would turn up that would completely clear her. Something about stuff in a locker somewhere. And the sick bitch kept referring to Selena as "my daughter." I wanted to crawl through the tv & strangle her until her eyeballs popped.

Also, seems like I read that she has to be watched pretty closely in prison, because so many of the other inmates hate her so much.

Selena was very special. There was just something very, very special about her, and it's such a tragedy that she's gone.

selena was a very beautiful and talented tejano singer who could have really gone far in her career....she was just crossing over into other types of music and successfully making a name for herself until the nasty ole' witch put an end to it all!!!

Yes, and there is some discussion on here about whether or not it was her death that made her successful. Truthfully, I never knew much about her until her death, but after learning about her, I have no doubt at all that she would have become famous anyway, and as loved worldwide as she was in Texas.

I knew some of her songs before her death, but I really started to listen to her music after her death. I have the majority of her cd's and my children (who were born after she died) are all VERY familiar with her music. Her songs are so "catchy" and fun!
Her "Selena Live" cd really showcases her talent. She was quite the entertainer and had a very strong voice.

there is a very popular "pop" song that she sang and i didn't even know it was her until finally someone announced it!! i thought geez, the girl is on her way!! can't remember the name of the song tho...

i didn't really like her music, nor did i really find her beautiful. but her story is a very interesting one of chasing dreams and her death was very tragic.

i do believe that her death sped up the spread of her name. death is one thing that will draw attention in hollywood, especially if it's premature. because it's one of the few real things that come out of there.

i think jennifer lopez did an excellent job of potraying selena....besides, this role launched her career...
