The Cure -- Pictures of You.
When your daughter plays "House," she pretends to be an annoying doctor with a pill-addiction and a limp.

    Bon Jovi - Always
    Aerosmith - Angel
    Guns n' Roses - Don't Cry
Kansas - Dust in the Wind
    Aerosmith - I Don't Wanna Miss a Thing
Bon Jovi - My Guitar Lies Bleeding In My Arms
    Pantera - Hollow
Guns n' Roses - November Rain
Bon Jovi - Bed of Roses
Whitesnake - Here I Go Again (but the first, blues-rock version, not the glam one)
Aerosmith - Janie's Got a Gun (one of the saddest song s ever)
Deep Purple - Child In Time
    Metallica - Nothing Else Matters
Poison - Every Rose Has Its Thorn (yes, I know it's cheesy)
    Aerosmith - Dream On
Bon Jovi - Someday I'll Be Saturday Night
Motley Crue - If I Die Tommorow
Toto - I'll Be Over You
Cockney Rebel - Sebastian (such a beutiful song, sadly no one knows it exists)
Bon Jovi - Something To Believe In
    Guns n' Roses - Patience
    Pantera - Cemetary Gates
Poison - Something To Believe In
Whitesnake - Ain't No Love In the Heart of the City (I don't know who wrote the song, but Whitesnake did a cover, so if someone knows, please tell me)
    Aerosmith - Amazing
    Bon Jovi - Dry County

Lots of Bon Jovi... And there would be a lot more Aerosmith if they wrote heart braking songs... But they don't

Happy Ever After In Your Eyes - Ben Harper
    - Written as a Lullaby for Matilda at Heath Ledgers request

[ I couldn't leave you to go to heaven, I carry you in my smile
For the first time my true reflection I see happy ever after in your eyes

... Every star in the night promises the dawn
I will be there if you fall to ever so heavily rest upon

All that I can give you is forever yours to keep
wake up every day with a dream and happy ever after in your eyes..]

two that immediately come to mind are "halleluhah" by jeff buckley & "redemption song" by bob marley. "redemption song" nearly always brings a tear to my eye.

when i was a kid "me and little andy" by dolly parton would make me sob. i couldn't handle that song.
