    Loved:

    Bread - Baby I'm A-Want You
    Hootie - Cracked Rear View
Chicago - Whatever album has the song "Time" on it.

I just heard this great album called 'Neon Bible' from Canada. It has organs and this medevil feeling.

For me that is no contest

    Red Hot Chili Peppers- Californication.

Coming in second, the great reggae stylings of
Bob Marley-Legend. Contains all his greatest hits.
My goal is to be happy with my life.

    erm... have to disagree.

A perfect album is, to me, 'all killer, no filler'. An album full of great songs, with nothing lagging behind. Something that really defines a band, and last the test of time.

I'm a MASSIVE U2 fan, and I do like ATYCLB, but there are some duds on there (Grace, for example!)

Perfect example of the perfect album: Led Zeppelin IV. 8 songs, all brilliant, all stand out, but all blend together perfectly.

    Sgt Pepper is another one.
Joshua Tree I'd say is U2's perfect album.

The White Album is good, but I personally feel the 2nd disc lags a bit. (have been listening to it a lot lately... seems to help me study... or studying gets Dear Prudence stuck in my head, and I feel compelled to dig out the White Album!)

Both amazing albums. Absolution is pretty close to perfect!

    thought i'd revive this...

    lambchop - damaged

the beach boys - pet sounds

bob dylan - blonde on blonde, blood on the tracks, highway 61 revisited

    iron & wine/calexico - in the reins

pavement - i only put 'slanted & enchanted' in the first list but really all their albums are pretty much perfect (i miss them! *sigh*), especially 'crooked rain, crooked rain' and 'terror twilight'

blur - 'modern life is rubbish'

the grateful dead - 'american beauty' (yes, i had a hippie phase but this is truly a beautiful album)

    the clash - combat rock

elvis costello - this year's model

iggy pop - the idiot & lust for life

    silver jews - american water

belle & sebastian - if you're feeling sinister live at the barbican 25/9/05
though it's fair to say the original 1996 album is pretty damn near perfect too.
