Anyone remember an 80's band called Visage? Had a big hit with Fade to Grey? No? Oh well, I saw the frontman, Steve Strange, performing with a band that the Bloke is friends with and I was very pleasantly surprised. You could tell that his previous hard living had taken a toll on him but as soon as the first track started he was off and bloody electric! It was like someone had switched him on and set him running and he had the crowd screaming for more. I love my rock and metal but this was still pretty awesome to see and hear. I was in the backstage/dressing room area when he came off stage and got to meet him and I have to say that he was a thoroughly nice guy; very sweet and down to earth, posed for endless photographs with fans who'd come from all over to see him and signed loads of autographs (including Bloke's Access All Areas sticker on his camera bag, which he still hasn't shut up about).

Jens Lekman. Fucking amazing. And he's just so adorable and talented, even the boys who were at the show with their girlfriends looked like they wanted to throw their panties at him and have his babies.

Saw Benjamin Francis Leftwich last night at a teeny tiny wee venue. Incredible. Goosebumps.

radiohead on thursday. thom yorke talked less but danced more. and their light show was more impressive this time, the screens actually moved and the configuration changed for every song. i also thought the setlist was more interesting.

dirty projectors yesterday. they sound amazing live. standout songs for me: swing low magellan, dance for you and stillness is the move. oh, and they showed their short film 'hi custodian' ahead of the concert.

bon iver. the setlist didn't change much compared to last year. instead of 'beach baby' and 'lisbon, OH', they played 'woods' and their cover of björk's 'who is it' which was all right.

I saw the tape of him singing live on Stephen Colbert - did you think his voice sounded thin? I'm just curious, because when I heard him, it sounded like he was really struggling.
