LOVE that song. My other favorites:

    Hello Goodbye
    A Day in the Life

Sgt. Pepper's is their best album, IMO.

I seriously cannot think of any Beatles song I do NOT like..so many, many classics...some masterpieces IMHO. Love them. One of my friends in High School was an absolute FANATIC-she was devastated when Lennon was murdered.

I guess I will pick "In My Life". Makes me cry.

'Hey Jude'... that part where it's just a crescendo and scatting... I love it. The ending, the repetituous na-na-na-nananana's... instead of being drawn out, they're hypnotic.

'3 Cool Cats' will also have a special place in my heart.. my dad used to sing it to my two brothers and I when we were little.

Have you heard the version by Chantal Kreviazuk? I don't like it to be honest, but I also don't like the original version. But she does it justice I promise.

Here's my stance on The Beatles: They were rough blokes before they joined, and were destined for jail if it weren't for them banding together.
So the fact that they became big-headed is no surprise, but honestly they were considered bigger than Jesus so who WOULDN'T get big-headed?
I like a lot of their tunes, but the problems I have with their songs is that they were made back before music editing and recording was perfected like it is now, so it's hard for me. I'm just like that. I also don't think either of the lead singers had/have very good voices, so that always grated me. That's why I prefer the remakes for the most part, like on the Across the Universe OST for the most part.
But I doubt anything will ever be better than the original of Yesterday. That song is just their best.

Great thread topic. I am one of those Beatle fanatics (even been to beatle fest) Love all of their songs (seriously) but my all time favs are OB-LA-DI OB-LA-DA & I saw her standing there.

I absolutely love If I Fell.

Also a big fan of their early uptempo stuff:

    Twist and Shout
    All My Loving
    She Loves You
I Want To Hold Your Hand
    I Saw Her Standing There
    Can't Buy Me Love

After they broke up and I heard songs by Wings, I realized it was Paul's melodies I loved so much; to this day they still make me cry. Lyrics were more romantic than when he was partnered with John. I'm a McCartney girl through and through.

Yeah, those are fantastic. Sigh. So many memories....

Every time I hear Hey Jude it reminds me of the time my "fall" came off on the bucket Ferris wheel (what are those called?) at the L.A. County Fair. I was a senior in high school and had a blind date with our foreign exchange student from Sweden. When we flipped over, my fall came off and the Kleenex I had under it to give it some rise fell out onto the poor guy's lap... he didn't know what to say! Oh, the sixties....

And the whole reason I was wearing that damn fall was because I had gotten a Twiggy cut and it looked gawd-awful. I had dyed it blonde - this was when you had to bleach it out and then tone it - a two-step process. I will never forget walking back to the drugstore with orange hair, plotting to kill my mean girl "bff" the entire time, since she was the one who convinced me to bleach out my hair.

So no, Hey Jude will never be my one of my favorite Beatles songs!

Oh, I also love And I Love Her. Such a pretty song. And I'm such a sap.
