Only here I would admit this. The most crazy fun night 10 years ago and at a certain point this song (?!?! how) was played. It brings me right back to that night. (for a long time I thought this was an Olivia Newton John song.

Cute song, and she does sound like ONJ.

I love this dumb Olivia Newton John song ("Make a Move on Me") and I even had the 45 RPM back in the day. Maybe it was the B side to "Physical", though, which I did not like:

This thread should come with a trigger warning. Every time I see the Irrational Hate of Celebrities thread, I always think that mine is certain 80s music, and damn if y'all didn't hit most of mine.

It's like the definition of German Schlager. It was a monster hit in the 70s. I heard it on the radio in 2017, in a giant traffic jam during summer. My car windows were open. I could sind along, knowing every word. Every person in the cars around me were singing along to my radio, too. That's lasting love.
    Still a stupid song.

I definitely remember this. In the DC area, there was a legendary progressive rock station, called WHFS FM. The disk jockeys themselves were like rock stars - Demian (who kept broadcasting, even after a debilitating stroke), scratchy-voiced Neci, and "Weasel" (who literally sounded like a human weasel). They had "Detachable Penis" on high rotation -- it was very hypnotic, and you could only hear it on WHFS because the other local stations weren't about to play a song with "penis" in the lyrics.

I'm putting this entry in for Mrs Mo: "Soy Rebelde" by Jeanette. Spanish singer. I never even heard of her until we were discussing music we were nostalgic about:

^^She was super popular in Mexico back in the 80's, IIRC; I even purchased one of her cassettes when I was a teenage, lol!

I forgot all about that Detached Penis song! And I'm not even kidding, I accidentally typed dong instead of song at first. Freudian AF.

So, at work, I keep hearing All Star by Smashmouth and it disturbs me on a profound level that I know all the words to it and I just don't like myself for it and I was wondering does that mean that I secretly like it or just that it's an ear-wormy little pop song engineered to get stuck in your head? I'm so embarrassed.

And holy fuck, why are there so many famous people in that video? Including William H. Macy...

Benny Mardones - Into the Night. So stupid yet catchy, and the youtube comments are the best. "Mommy, there's an ugly lady outside my window singing".
