Okay so I went to Country Stampede and had a blast. It was wild, but still fairly family friendly with lots of kids there. Very very redneck, but mostly the good kind of redneck, so no worries.

On Thursday we saw Whiskey Meyers, Wade Bowen, and Eric Church. I'm meh of Whiskey Meyers and never had heard of them before. They really didn't catch my attention. Wade Bowen was very very good in concert, but when I came home and sampled his songs, I only like one or two. I'd have to say he's better live. Then there was Eric Church and while he did put on an excellent show, he started like 45 minutes late and just gave off this really arrogant jackass vibe. Even with that, he was kinda hot in a weird way while he was performing.

Friday we saw Jason Jones (really really cute), Nitty Gritty Dirt Band (totally awesome), and Joe Nichols and damn is he hotter than hot in person. I mean, like whoa. I was kind of disappointed with his set because he played all these radio-friendly songs I haven't really heard much of and I wanted him to play the good shit off his old albums. Still, like WHOA! We were smart and left before Lady A started and got out of the parking lot pretty damn quick, but not without taking some shit for leaving early. I hate Lady A.

Saturday was the BIG DAY! I saw Jerrod Niemann (uber hot, great show, so sweet and humble), Blake Shelton (oh my good goddamn he is freaking huge and hot and his voice is WAY bigger than I thought, there was much loin quiveration), and Brad Paisley (good show, but the sound mixing was a little off and we could barely hear Brad's little voice except for the couple of acoustic songs he did. Jerrod and Blake did much better with their big voices). Also on Saturday, Glenn Thompson, who I also never heard of before, but was pretty good. He's also really cute if you like blondes.

By far Saturday was the best, and really was the day I went for. I was so wired after the show I didn't go to sleep at all Saturday night and slept most of the way back to CO.

I can't wait until Blake's new album comes out in a couple weeks. He sang a song from it called I'm Sorry or something like that and I absolutely fell in love with it. BTW, did I mention how fucking hot he is? I will be dreaming about Jerrod and Blake for quite awhile.


BTW, I'm the most spoiled rotten bitch EVAR!!! We found another family that had driven in from CO and they were asking if we were going to see Tobey Keith at Cheyenne Frontier Days, I said no, but I'd love to, so hubby got on his phone right then and got us tickets to go to the rodeo that weekend and see TK. I'm so excited.

I like old country and rockabilly too. Huge fan of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent, The Rock and Roll Trio, Charlie Pride, Patsy Cline. I fucking love Graham Parsons.

Not much of a fan of the newer style. John Prine, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams are about as modern as I get.

and though he's not that well know for his country albums, bob dylan is fantastic (nashville skyline, etc).

i also love a lot of the 'countrypolitan' sound of the 60s. kinda kitschy but that's why it's so great, it's so lush and orchestral.

and i adooooore lambchop. they're more of an alt-country band though. and they cross over so many genres, including countrypolitan. and they are one of the most fantastic live bands i've ever seen.

also loved Jeff tweedy's old band, uncle tupelo. son volt. blitzen trapper. calexico. cat power. freakwater. iron & wine.

Greys that sounds like an awesome weekend, Jerrod is really really growing on me, I'm glad Blake was good in concert since I get to see him this weekend lmao piggy may have to restrain me from attacking the hotness. I'm not a big Toby Keith fan he irks me for some reason, my son loves him though

last week I had to order some cds of mine that had been lost. John Anderson because I needed my Wild and Blue back... and on every effing album, it sounds different so I may have to order a different version. And I ordered an old Dan Seals that has Meet Me In Montana and My Old Yeller car on it ... and of course, All That Glitters....
