    Where did you hear Halford was classically trained? I've never heard that, but I wouldn't put my money on it. I too thought he was great...until I heard him live. Like most metal vocalists, he doesn't have any sort of technique at all, and he can't usually last through a whole concert without losing his voice.

    Al right, you music snob, I had read somewhere that he was originally an operetic singer, now I can't find it. I know you study music, I just didn't know I would be graded on my answer!

    I too have heard him live as JP was the first concert I had ever been too. I also have one of their live albums, which I understand is a compilation of many concerts. and I *still* think he has an amazing voice.

    And I consider metal a version of rock.
