Man, Lena Horne! I recently saw The Wiz on some oldies channel and she sings just one song in it. "Believe" I think it's called. She was in her sixties when she recorded that and she blew all the other singers into oblivion with her singing. Wow!

She is so smooth and has a hypnotic way about her. My grandmother listened to her and Mahlia Jackson as well as Ella Fitzgerald. Not only do I love how Ms. Horne sings but I love to hear her talk. I was listening to Christmas music on cable for the last week and Ms. Horne comes on and everything comes to a halt and I turn it up and savor it.

    Yes, Annie Lennox.

I think Nikka Costas is wonderful.
I like Natasha Benningfield. I think she is pretty good.

I think Chrissie Hynde is the best female singer. I haven't liked her music in a long time, but I think she has one of the best voices in rock. Her voice is velvety and textured, yet she can make the loveliest quavering sounds. I can't really describe it, but it sounds great.
