You need to tell us what kind of music you like. I could list a bunch of indie stuff and whatnot, but you might not like any of it.

Try

My Morning Jacket
Bright Eyes
Sun Kil Moon ('Carry Me Ohio' is a very lovely song)
Sufjan Stevens ('For the Widows in Paradise...', 'Romulus', and 'John Wayne Gacy Jr' are all beautiful songs)
Fiona Apple's new album
Frou Frou
Postal Service
Death Cab for Cutie
Interpol ('Evil' is a great song)

All this stuff is pretty mild... nothing outrageous or scary or too weird or anything, so it should work for most anyone. Unless you don't like mild stuff, and then... I don't know, try Cursive or something.

Download Frank by Amy Winehouse. Fuckin' fantastic album. Love it. "Fuck Me Pumps" is CLASSIC. There are also 2 hidden bonus tracks on the last track of the album.

Cool

I am in the same boat as you Though after looking at my song bank, I appear to be stuck in the '90s!! Mainly because alot of these songs are coming from my old CDs though. Not sure if you are going for songs you have heard of or not, most of mine are pretty known, I am taking suggestions people give you too!

I have:
Interpol: Muchlove mentioned 'Evil' which is awesome, but the rest of the cds are good too!
Lifehouse - love them to death - got all 3 cds downloaded.
Radiohead: basically their entire catalogue
Dave Matthews Band (all the albums downloaded)
Fuel: I like most of Fuel's songs.
Chevelle: (all the albums)

Other stuff:
12 Rods - 'Glad that It's Over'
3 Doors Down - only some songs from the 1st album, the rest are whiny. (Here without you, Kryptonite, Loser, Duck and Run)
311 - Down
A Perfect Circle - 3 Libras
AC/DC - Thunderstruck (there tons more AC/DC songs, I just haven't gone through them all yet)
Aerosmith - <3: I don't want to miss a thing, Same Old Song and Dance, Train Kept a Rollin', Just Push Play, Jaded, The Entire Nine Lives and Get a Grip albums, Dude (looks like a lady), Angel, Monkey on My Back, What it Takes.
Alanis Morrisette: Ironic, Uninvited, You Oughta Know
Alien Ant Farm: the ANThology album
Audioslave: Chocise, Show Me How to Live, What You Are, Like a Stone, I am the Highway
Beastie Boys: Sure Shot, Sabotage
Blue Oyster Cult: Don't Fear the Reaper
Bon Jovi: (take your pick)
Buckcherry: Lit Up
Bush: Mouth, Everything Zen, Bomb, Comedown, Machinehead, Glycerine
Cardigans: My Favorite Game
Chemical Brothers: (I like them, but only have Hey Boy, Hey Girl)
Collective Soul: December, Gel, Shine, The World I Know
CCR: Fortunate Son
David Bowie: Major Tom
Days of the New: Bring Me Down
The Decemberists: Here I Dreamt I was an Architect
Dishwalla: Counting Blue Cars
Eve 6: Inside Out
Rush: Tom Sawyer
Prodigy: Firestarter
U2
Stone Temple Pilots: Big Empty
Spoon: The Way We Get By
Sarah Mclaughlin
Pixies: Where is My Mind
Moby: Flower
Foo Fighters: The One, Best of You
Everclear: Santa Monica, Father of Mine, I Will Buy You a New Life, You Make Me Feel Like a Whore, Heroin Girl
Goo Goo Dolls: Iris, Black Balloon, Slide
Gorillaz
Godsmack

Garbage: Only Happy When it Rains, Stupid Girl
Kansas: Carry On My Wayward Son, Dust in the Wind
Korn: Dead, Falling Away from Me, Make me Bad
Lindy: Beatifully Undone
Lynyrd Skynard: Sweet Home Alabama, Gimme 3 Steps, Simple Man
Metallica: One, the entire Black and Load albums
Lit: Everything's Cool
Motley Crue : I like the Generation Swine album
No Doubt: Ex-Girlfriend, Simple Kind of Life, Spiderwebs, Just a Girl, Don't Speak, Tragic Kingdom
The Offspring: Defy You
Papa Roach: Scars, Last Resort, Broken Home
Quarashi: Stick 'em Up
Rob Zombie: Dragula, Superbeast, Living Dead Girl, Never Gonna Stop
The Shins: So Says I, When You Notice the Stripes
Smashing Pumpkins: 1979
Snow Patrol: I like the album, but I only have 'Run' downloaded
Taking Back Sunday: A Decade Under the Influence
Tool: the AEnima and Lateralus albums
Van Halen (only with Sammy though!) The Balance album is good
White Zombie: More Human than Human, Super Charger Heaven, Devil Man
ZZ Top: La Grange
White Stripes: My Doorbell (haven't got much from them downloaded yet)
War: Lowrider
Cypress Hill : Rock Superstar, Jump Around
Country:
Vince Gill, Tracy Lawrence, Allison Krauss, Alan Jackson, Nickelcreek, Sammy Kershaw, George Strait, Garth Brooks, Johnny Cash

Other Stuff:
Dio: Holy Diver, Rainbow in the Dark
Outkast: Ms. Jackson, I'll Come Before I Come, BOB, Gasoline Dreams
Shakira: The entire Laundry Service album
Shawn Colvin: Get Out of This House
Roxette: Crash Boom Bang, Joyride
Snoop Dogg & Dre: Gin and Juice

Think that's about it -

I'm in your boat too. I got one for my birthday on the 15th and I still haven't come close to filling it. So far I have two Allison Kraus cds on it, Van Morrison, Veggie Tales (I have a 2 year old) and the rest is a mix.

Beth Hart
Anna Nalick
Bob Schneider
Wilco
James Taylor
Norah Jones
BB King
and a bunch of stuff that was on my laptop when I got it. One that is a new favorite is "Love Me Like A Song" by Kimmie Rhodes with Willy Nelson. Their vocals harmonize amazingly.

Any recommendations are welcome...

"Tangerine Speedo" - Caviar (fun)
"Dragostea Din Tei" - O-Zone (for dancing)
"Perfekte Welle" - Juli (German Pop)
"La Gasolina" - Daddy Yankee (Reggation, for dancing)
"Mr. Blue Sky" - E.L.O. (cheerful song)
"Ban the Tube Top" - Reel Big Fish (ska, a whimsical song)
"Sleep on Needles" - Sondre Lerche (indie)
"My Goddess" - The Exies (true head-banging hard rock, if you're into that)

This place: http://music.download.com/ has lots of free mp3's from mostly more obscure artists from around the world.

Which version of More Than Words? There was a recent cover by Frankie J, plus the countless versions before it.
