Scarlett Johansson’s debut album drops May 20th

Scarlett Johansson’s debut album, Anywhere I Lay My Head, will officially drop on Tuesday, May 20.

The album will be released via Rhino Entertainment’s Atco Records and will feature 10 Tom Waits covers and one original track.

Scarlett, 23, spent five weeks last spring recording the album in Maurice, Louisiana. The actress-turned-singer has song collaborations on the album with Yeah Yeah Yeahs guitarist Nick Zimmer, Celebration’s Sean Antanaitis and TV On The Radio’s Dave Sitek, who produced.

Listen to Scarlett sing the track “Summertime” for Unexpected Dreams, a 2006 charity album featuring movie stars.

Last April, Scarlett made a surprise appearance with the Jesus & Mary Chain at Coachella festival.

I cant really stand the way she speaks so not sure how i'll like her singing. I'm curuous though.

But for some reason it just annoys the hell out of me when actors sing, singers act, models do anything, etc.

The funny part is, if she's like anyone else in Hollywood who wants a quick singing career, some of the songs will actually be quite good. Because of the writers she pays.

Tom Waits is great, so I appreciate her taste in music, but I feel she is just another bored actress who has the connections to do what she likes.

yeah, true. but if she does a good job of it, does it really matter if she's doing it more for hobby than because she wants to be a 'real' musician? that's what i'll be basing my judgement on, not what she wants out of her musical career or that she got help from her connections.

True that, she has a terrible speaking voice, she sounds so boooooring. I was really distracted in The Nanny Diaries by how terrible she sounds, like she's detached from her body or something, so monotonous.
