    Default Across the Universe soundtrack

Both the single-disc and double-disc deluxe version are available on iTunes now and I am loving it! As a huge Beatles fan, I usually detest even the idea of someone trying to recreate these songs, but some of the covers in the film were fantastic.

I absolutely love "Strawberry Fields Forever", "Something", "I've Just Seen A Face" and "If I Fell". T.V. Carpio's rendition of "I Want To Hold Your Hand" totally reinvents the song - it's beautiful. I've never considered it a "sad" song until I saw it placed in such a different context in the film. It's far from happy when you're singing about a hand you'll probably never get to hold.

I'm loving Jim Sturgess' voice. It's so perfect that they cast a Brit to sing these songs.

Go on over and listen to the 30-second samples on iTunes. Share your thoughts here!
I saw a film today, oh boy.

I just bought the 2-Disc deluxe version, and it's really awesome. I love the cd.

Evan Rachel Wood sucks, but I'm happy to have rediscovered Joe Cocker. What an amazing talent he is.

The soundtrack is great .. can't say much for the actual film, though.

Yeah I don't think she can sing either. She's got that in common with her boyfriend.

I feel the same way. I'm in love with the soundtrack but the movie was a huge disappointment for me.

I came here just to see if anyone else had gotten into it.. I bought a few songs on iTunes and I love the covers of 'Hey Jude' and 'Strawberry Fields'.... nothing compares to the originals, but these give the songs a really modern, great touch. I love it. I dont know if I'll be able to say the same for the movie if I ever get a chance to see it.. reviews have been mixed, I hear.

In the past year I've really grown to dislike The Beatles and therefore their songs are sort of tainted sourly for me, so I won't be buying this... but I have got "Hey Jude" stuck in my head.
