Report: Led Zeppelin re-forming for concert
    • Story Highlights
    • Led Zeppelin expected to announce a one-off performance in London
    • A tour could follow if the concert, at London's O2 Arena, is successful
    • It would be the first time the band has reformed in 19 years

LONDON, England (CNN) -- Rock legends Led Zeppelin are to reform for the first time in 19 years for a one-off concert in London, the band is expected to announce.
Robert Plant playing in London, 2006, with his band the Strange Sensation.

Singer Robert Plant, 59, last week hinted that the band were reforming when a fan asked him about the possibility of a performance.
He replied: "How did you know about that?", the British Press Association reported.
The three surviving original band members -- Robert Plant, Jimmy Page and John Paul Jones -- are said to be planning a concert at the O2 Arena in November, organized by promoter Harvey Goldsmith.
It would coincide with a new "Best Of Led Zeppelin" CD due to be released that month.
It is believed a tour could follow if the concert is successful.
The band broke up in 1980 when drummer John Bonham died after a drinking binge.
His son, Jason, is expected to join the band on stage.
The band have played several times since they split, including at Live Aid in 1985.
Led Zeppelin have sold around 200 million albums, including more than 100 million in the US.
It is reported that money raised from ticket sales will go to a charity formed following the death of Ahmet Ertegun, who founded Atlantic Records.

This is very exciting news! I do hope they tour...

Now that's a band, I'd love to see.

we had great seats. back then they had the stand with everyone concert 'seating' on the floor. our seats were just off the floor to the right of the stage. we saw Robert Plant pulling in to the Sports Arena in his Limo, we watched him get out, he waved to everyone, and poof they shut the doors on us. they played Stairway to heaven twice. i dont know why. they sang Star Spangled Banner but with a HUGE amount of guitar.... by you know who!
it lasted about 3 hrs. i wish i could remember the set list, but i dont. most of it was their hits, and a few things i didnt know. REO speedwagon opened for them. they had 3 encores, one of them was a JP solo. i remember i couldnt hear well for days!

If you wish it, they will come.

I saw "Page & Plant" about 12 years ago, when they did that tour with the middle eastern style orchestra, and THAT was mesmerizing!

This new tour would be a dream come true!

I heard on the radio this morning that 20 million people tried to register and it crashed the website where you could register. Apparently they weren't expecting such a HUGE amount of traffic. Though I think 20 million users anywhere at one time would probably crash a site.

THIS is the concert that would be worth the contact high, ringing ears and dizzies. I heard about it on the radio yesterday and started hollering because the dj wanted to give commentary and I wanted factual details. Like when, how much and where. I was sad to learn that when is very soon, how much is more than I have and where is where I can not afford to go right now. Hell, even my kid is sort of named after them! I would be elated if there was a tour to follow!
Snooky Wookums, prepare for the invasion!
