Default What concerts have you been to, and who was your favorite?

Im so excited!!! I just got tickets for The Beastie Boys in August at Penns Landing (Philadelphia). This will be my third time seeing them. I guess the first doesn't really count because i had to sit with my drunk boyfriend inside near the bathroom...he drank wayyyy to much, and we could hear the concert, but couldn't see them. I was PISSED.

So I was wondering...what concerts have you been to, and who was your favorite??

    my list:
    Aerosmith
    Cheap Trick (opened for Aerosmith)
    Beastie Boys-twice
    The Darkness
    Cypress Hill
    Hoobastank
    New Found Glory
    The Black Crowes
Tom Petty - twice, i love him
    Red Hot Chili Peppers
The Mars Volta (opened for RHCP, and i hated them)

my fav has to be Tom Petty and RHCP.

I really want to get tickets to the Warped Tour this year...Bad Religion, Pennywise, Coheed & Cambria, Killswitch Engage, Red Jumpsuit Apparatus..and lots more depending on where you are.

    Been to:

    Blink 182 ( I was a sophomore in HS, don't judge. )
    Creed (Friend dragged me)
    The Hives
    Disturbed (BF dragged me)
    NIN (twice) (BF)
    Tool (BF)

The Hives was by far my favorite. NIN were good. The rest were meh.

I'm always up for a good Riverboat Gamblers show, as well.

Here I go showing my age My very first concert was when I was VERY young and tagged along with my cousin and their friends who were much older and cool.....Rod Stewart opening for 3 Dog Night~ Can you believe that? I would be willing to bet most on this board have no idea who 3 Dog Night are. Many years later while living in Newport Beach, the lead singer (forget his name) came to one of our parties and then many many years after that I worked in a Consulting Firm and the Managing Partner was his brother. Kinda funny now~

I think there are 3 concerts that stand out for me as far as performances....

Elton John during the early 80s (fabulous performer). This was when he dressed wildly and the shoes he wore that night were platforms with the soles made of a mini aquarium with goldfish swimming around~

The others are actually a tie between Bruce Springsteen's Born in the USA tour and Rolling Stones.

Those were the good ole days~
    Playful~

Let me see if I can remember them all...

    Blink 182/Green Day - June 2002
    Train (Mom's a big fan) - July 2003
The Vans Warped Tour (included Rancid, One Man Army) - August 2003
Queens of the Stone Age (w/ The Distillers) - September 2003
    John Mayer (w/ Maroon 5) - August 2004
    Maroon 5 (w/ The Donnas) - April 2005
Green Day (w/ Anti-Flag and Jimmy Eat World) - August 2005
    Muse (w/ Cloud Room) - July 2006

I'd say my favourite was definitely the Maroon 5 show. I was literally in the front row, dead centre and only a few feet away from Adam Levine the entire time. I got to watch the sound check and meet the band, which was amazing, and I got some fantastic pictures to remember the show. Those guys are just so much fun to watch live. In a close second would be Muse. Those guys are the best band working today, hands down. They have such an amazing energy and can really play well live. The crowd experience was rather brutal (lots of sweaty, violent people coming in and out of the mosh pit and rubbing up against me to get by, yuck!), but the three hour wait was totally worth it. I'll be seeing them again next month, woot!
I saw a film today, oh boy.

    Been to the following:

    Oasis/Travis
    The Cure
    Nine Inch Nails/A Perfect Circle
    Collective Soul
    Unwritten Law
    Suicidal Tendencies
No Doubt/Black Eyed Peas (Long before Fergie)

My favorite was the Cure. I saw them on the Bloodflowers tour in 2000, and it was amazing.

    Been to:

Guns ‘n Roses (was young ‘n stupid)
    REM (boring)
HIM (Ville is gorgeous up close)
Placebo (twice, kinda sucked both times)
Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds (twice, was awesome both times)
    Iron Maiden (not bad)
    Manowar (freaking awesome!!)
The Tiger Lillies (not sure whether to call it a concert, though, it was more of a performance, liked it quite a bit)

And I’m going to Metallica tomorrow

My fave is definitely Nick Cave, I plan to see him every time he comes to Greece (which is luckily quite often).

saw nick cave in montreal. need to see him again. brilliant.

i've been to way too many concerts to count, i'm a huge live music junkie though since i finished uni i haven't been to half as many concerts as i used to.
some of the best: nick cave, blur, amon tobin, morcheeba (with the original singer), lambchop (i've seen them about 8 times and each time is different - there aren't even the same number of people in the band), calexico (especially when they tour with the mariachi dudes), franz ferdinand, depeche mode, tito puente (so glad i saw him before he died)...

i'm going to a bunch of festivals this summer and will be seeing arcade fire, beastie boys, rufus wainwright, lambchop, the good the bad and the queen, clap your hands say yeah, bjo¨rk, air...

First concert EVER: Rick Springfield at Barton Coliseum in Little Rock, Arkansas. I think I was around 13 and my mom took me because I was just so in love with him.

I will also date myself here: I saw all of the 80s hair bands-
    Poison
    Winger
    Cinderella
    to name a few.

In recent years, I have seen Elton John with Billy Joel. I love EJ and cried when he came on! I have seen A Perfect Circle twice. I also attended the Curiosa Festival in Nashville about three or four years ago and saw The Cure (fantastic!), Muse (loved em), Auf Der Maur, etc.

My sister and I fulfilled our teenage fantasy and saw Duran Duran two years ago in Memphis. Tis also the day I met Lord Brit for the first time. I saw my childhood Brit love (Simon) and met my future Brit love. ;P
