Re: Oldies Fans
Hells ya! You could catch me listening to the Oldies station every once in awhile. Beatles, Beach Boys, Mama's & Papa's, Blind Faith, Rolling Stones, Simon & Garfunkel, Stevie Wonder, Bob Dylan, Diana Ross, etc.....all good stuff right there. Can totally make your day to hear a really great song that you haven't heard in forever.
However, I was listening over the summer to the Oldies station in the car and they were playing the GO GO'S!!!! I was like WHA?? THE GO GO's?? They're 'oldies'? I almost drove off the road....such a sad thing when 'your generations' music is old....

Re: Oldies Fans
BeeGees (through all their decades ), Jackson 5, Motown, Marvin Gaye, Styx, Eagles, Little River Band, The Osmonds (yeah, until about 1974), Dusty Springfield, Elvis of course, Tom Jones. I'm sure there's loads I'm forgetting right now.
I like good melodies, good voices, good harmonies. 90% of today's music sucks big time, as far as I'm concerned.

I am currently mourning the loss of the Chicago Oldies station. It's gone

Re: Oldies Fans
Yes, I'm a huge fan of the Mama's and the Papa's, any of the side bands that the members were in, ie., the Big 3, Journeymen..I love the Beatles, Janis, Jimi, the Animals, the Guess Who, Doors, Dylan, Byrds, Jefferson Airplane, Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young, Velvet Underground..then some Jazz like Miles Davis, and some OLD blues like Blind Willie Johnson, Son House, Skip James, etc.

Have you had a chance yet to hear Barry Gibb's newest collaboration with Barbra Streisand "Guilty Pleasures"? It's just that, a fantastic follow up to "Guilty" that has its 25th anniversary this year.

My favorite is classic rock (Zeppelin, Stones, Beatles, Doors, Hendrix), but I also love old R & B (Marvin Gaye, Al Green, Temptations)

Re: Oldies Fans
You guys will thank me, because there is an internet station
called
http://www.radioio.com/
that has different "stations" for different eras of music.
On the upper-left corner, click where it says 70s and you'll hear
the likes of...
Steve Winwood, the Moody Blues, the Stones, Zeppelin, Cream,
Robert Palmer (Sneakin' Sally Thru the Alley), Thin Lizzy, Geils Band,
Mott the Hoople, Yes, Arlo Guthrie, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Al Stewart,
Poco, ELO, etc.
