Quite possibly the most beautiful voice in the world. I think her first album has some real gems. This is my kind of music! (Sort of country meets beautifully sorrowful, but at the same time cool enough to be on Smallville)

My favourites of hers are:

1. Falling (GOD, I bloody love this song, it makes me all girly and emotional)

2. Angel Doves (again, the lyrics are really sweet if you're into God in any way, and the tune is beautiful- again, a crier for sure!)

3. One Moment More.

4. Little Devil

I have to be honest, I don't like her 2nd album as much as her first, it's just not as attractive, but it does have a few nice tunes. All of them are good to listen to at night if you want to be set into a lullaby sleep.

Love her music!

I love her too, Allie! I have not heard all of her new album, but One Moment More is fantastic.

It's hard to pick a favorite song cos they're all so good, but I especially love "Amazing" and "Hurricane".

Mindy is one of the best singer/songwriters of our time if ya ask me.

C'mon now-- we can't be the only Mindy fans on here can we, Allie?

I was just thinking that same thought.
Maybe it's the fact that nobody here has heard her music yet... Hopefully somebody who reads this will be experimental and try downloading a tune of hers.

I should have mentioned Hurricane as number 4, and the lovely Raggedy-Anne (sob sob) as number 5. I just couldn't remember any more after 3!

edit: I like Out Loud, too (listening to it now!). And Long Island Shores has a nice sad chorus.

When I saw her in concert about 2 1/2 years ago I remember thinking, "WOW this girl's gonna make it big!" I was blown away by her talent. Can't believe she's not more famous.

I guess it's b/c she can't be labeled? Her music is such a mix, which makes it hard to market her to any particular audience. She's not pop, so it's not like they'll play her on the radio. She's not really country, but that's how she was marketed at first (not sure about now). A lot of the country fans don't like anything new or edgy, so this probably cut her chances big time.

I consider her to be a singer/songwriter with a unique twist.

Poor Mindy. With the right kind of exposure, she would have all kinds of fans. How unfair that someone like Paris Hilton with ZERO talent can make huge CD sales, while someone so gifted gets lost in the shuffle.

By the way, did you know that the song One Moment More was written about her beloved mother dying of cancer? When she sang it live, there was so much emotion and sadness in her beautiful voice. It was very touching, made me cry and gave me goosebumps.

^^ I caught the "Come to Jesus" video quite by accident on CMT-- a channel I normally never watch since I'm not into country music. I was mesmerized and had to go out and get the CD the very next day.

I hate 'Come to Jesus'. Not really because of the Jesus thing, of which I have no problem. I just think the tune is lacking. It's so dull. Definitely the worst Mindy song.

I just checked her out, she does have a great voice. Sounds like a mix between Sarah McLachlan and the Indigo Girls.
