New Kids on the Block at the Ohio State Fair in 1989(I think)
Destiny’s Child at the Jam in the Park concert in 2001, in London.

I know I'm missing some. But I'm loving everyone's list, it's fun to see people's musical tastes.
Some I forgot to mention. I have the flu and have brain fog--
Motley Crue
Styx
REO Speedwagon
Lenny Kravitz
Van Halen
38 Special
Night Ranger
I saw Depeche Mode in the 80s and maybe 1990 (the latter one was bad and full of yuppies, but Nitzer Ebb opened for them which made it better). OMD opened for the 88 show. I also saw Duran Duran and Erasure way back then.
I've seen tons of bands that no one would know, and some more famous alternative bands. The most famous person I probably saw by accident was Paul Simon.
"AND WHEN YOU BECAME DENISE, I TOLD ALL YOUR COLLEAGUES, THOSE CLOWN COMICS, TO FIX THEIR HEARTS OR DIE."
Oh, my. Concerts were my thing in high school and college. I lived near a ton of smaller venue's that catered to alternative music (9:30 club, Merriweather Post, etc.) so I saw a ton of bands every year. Also went to see a few bands at the larger arena's.
Shaun Cassidy (first concert)
Duran Duran
Adam Ant
Madonna
Beastie Boys
David Bowie
Culture Club
Wall of Voodoo
The Romantics
The Cure
The Smiths
B-52's
David Sylvian
Billy Idol
The Cars
Depeche Mode
Counting Crows
Erasure
Pearl Jam
Gene Loves Jezebel
Ministry (various Ministry renditions and side bands)
Howard Jones
Nitzer Ebb
Love and Rockets
Peter Murphy
GWAR
Jesus and Mary Chain
Midnight Oil
New Order
Morrissey
Nik Kershaw
Paul Young
INXS
Nine Inch Nails
Pankow
Skinny Puppy
The Waterboys
Thompson Twins
Erasure
There are so many more. Like Waterslide, I've seen a lot of alternative bands that aren't that well known. Really great bands that were spin off's and solo artists from bigger alternative bands. Then bands that I got dragged to by friends like Motley Crue, Warrant and Poison.
Oops, also Echo and the Bunnymen and XTC. I'll think of more!
No one very famous or at a large venue, really; when I was in my late teens/early 20's, I saw a couple of performances by 80's freestyle artists like Stevie B, The Cover Girls. Probably the most famous "artists" I ever saw were Milli Vanilli, lol! It was at a local club when they were at the height of their fame...seems so silly now to think I paid to see them perform![]()
