Default Songs that remind you of The One

Looking at dakodas' thread about You Outta Know, I got to thinking about songs that remind me of important moments or people in my life. For the Love Of My Life I have 2 songs, Still Crazy After All These Years by Paul Simon and (cheesy but relevant) Even Now by Barry Manilow (I can't believe I just typed that).

For me it would have to be "Two Out Of Three Ain't Bad" by Meatloaf for the one that got away and for the Mr. "Years Go By" by Delirious.

    "Gay Bar" by electric six.

No fond memmory. Just that it had been on the radio in my car when she first heard it. Then a few nights later she SMS'd me at three in the morning asking me if id just driven past her window with it playing. Her paranoia kicked in and she was convinced I was stalking her.

I know how not to be seen from my profession but somehow it seemed logical in her la la land that I would do this with my stereo on full blast playing 'Gay bar'

It would have been hilarious if it wasnt 3 am and it hadnt woken me up in my bed halfway across Sydney!!

Bon Jovi's "Bed of Roses", I left my ex to move to Hawaii from England and he sent me a tape of him talking to me and put this song on it.

Mine's Sea of Love by the Honeydrippers ... I've only REALLY loved two men, one when I was a child (the boy next door) and my husband. I actually associate the song with both of them, and real love in general. DH and I danced to it at our wedding. Makes me teary just singing it in my head.

Anything by The Misfits, specifically Last Caress, reminds me of my "first love" b/c he was the first one to make me listen to the band, and Last Caress was the first song he played for me. Also, Paint it Black b/c his band used to do a really awesome cover of it. He was a good boyfriend and we're still good friends, so it's nothing but good stuff that comes from hearing those songs. Usually when they come on the radio I'll text or call him just to say hi.

It's a weird song, but Fairytale of New York by The Pogues makes me think of the current BF b/c he used to listen to that song all the time. Probably not the best song to associate w/your significant other, but it works for us

    Oh man....

'Sweet Melissa' (though this was in the early 90's) it was playing in the bar we were at, getting to know each other. It just a nice, sweet time...and he was so cute. I'll never forget it.
