Default Pink Floyd

I've just been listening to Pink Floyd (drunkenly, I admit). Right now '
Wish You Were Here' is playing and does anyone else think this really is the greatest band ever? 'Cause I sure do...RIP Syd....

Enjoy listening to "Wish You Were Here". I'm not a Pink Floyd Fan, but I do like that song.

I love Pink Floyd with a passion. Dark Side of the Moon, Wish you were here, The Wall, Meddle and Animals are among my favorite records of all time.
I was stoked to see them play together again at Live8. I even shed a tear or two.

Pink Floyd is what I listened to when I started to really enjoy music, in about 7th grade. I remember taping "Comfortably Numb" on my little radio (but the beginning of it was cut off) and listening to it over and over. My brother told me it was Pink Floyd and I went off to buy my first cassette! Their music has been there in the backdrop all these years, like a best friend that never leaves!!! There is no other band or sound like them.

Mother should I build the wall? I love Pink Floyd. I think they are on the list of greatest. I still love Led Zeppelin. It's a toss up between those two for me.

The Wall is the best album ever. It's truly remarkable the way the band developed from psychadelic space rock to straightforward rock. It's almost hard to believe that the same band that created Atom Heart Mother came along with The Wall just 9 years later. Even more amazing is the way I enjoy them both so much despite how different they are.

I was just at the Roger Waters concert a few nights ago. It's the Dark Side of the Moon tour which means he performs the entire Dark Side Album after doing other Pink Floyd and some of his solo stuff first.

Also, if you're really into Pink Floyd you need to check out Roger Waters' solo albums, especially Amused to Death. That album is right up there with the best of Pink Floyd. And, if you're unfamiliar with it, check out Pink Floyd's The Final Cut album. It's kind of like a sequel to The Wall and it's one of the most underrated albums of all time.

MrAO is a Pink Floyd nut and always listens to it when he can get near the 'puter (which is seldom these days, damn you GR). Like all people of my vintage I've got Dark Side Of The Moon on, shock, vinyl and I have a soft spot for Meddle too, but for sentimental reasons (not telling).

YES! Pink Floyd is/was the best freaking band ever. Dark Side is an album most everyone in the world owns, Roger Waters is a lyrical genius, and back in the day David gilmour was a gorgeous -- sexy man who made my toes curl. WYWH is a great album, as is The Wall. The Wall isn't my favorite though, as I prefer the earlier Floyd stuff. Meddle is a good one, I say that because Echoes is my all-time fave PF song.

My fave solo of his is 'Pros and Cons of Hitchhiking'. I saw the first night of that tour years ago, with Eric Clapton on guitar and thought I had died and gone to heaven. 3½ hours os pure genius. Gilmore was a sex god but Waters has always interested me more (I love brainy guys). And now, well, Gilmore's a bit of a chub and Waters is looking pretty good.
