I was thinking the same thing about the kids Babs!!

I went on a night out with my stripper colleague a while ago and I was actually pretty embarrassed for most of the night. She insisted on doing her stripper moves against random men thinking she was ultra sexy. It was rather pathetic and I ended up making my excuses and going home early. If I'd seen anyone I knew while I was with her I may have got a bad reputation!!

Not really. Take a class where they teach you a few basic moves and go from there. It's actually pretty good exercise, which is why I took the class. It concentrates on my problem areas, waist to knees. And you don't have to be stick thin to do it. Some of the most famous belly dancers were volumptious. I saw Habebe in New Orleans and knew I wanted to try it.

But I don't think the version I know was sung by Joe Cocker. It was by some old 70's singer and sounded like a cheesy strip club music from the 70's too.

I believe the version you're referring to was sung by Tom Jones, which would explain the 'cheesy' sound you hear - lol -not surprisingly it's my favorite rendition!
