    Default The country music thread

Okay, so we need a thread for country music, since no one who listens to it actually posts about it. Come on and share your fav songs/albums/performers...nothing to be ashamed of.

Right now I'm liking Billy Currington's new single Love Done Gone and Toby Keith's entire album from last fall, I think its his best ever.

I love old country music. There. I said it. It is out in the open. I am really a heavy metal head but I really do love country music. George Jones. Patsy Cline. Johnny Cash. Hank Williams sr and Jr...love it all. L

New country: Miranda Lambert is wonderful. I just recently started listening more to Blake Shelton. Love Brad Paisley.

I like old country and rockabilly too. Huge fan of Willie Nelson, Johnny Cash, Gene Vincent, The Rock and Roll Trio, Charlie Pride, Patsy Cline. I fucking love Graham Parsons.

Not much of a fan of the newer style. John Prine, Steve Earle, Emmylou Harris and Lucinda Williams are about as modern as I get.

I am becoming a bit obsessed with Johnny Cash. I like some Willie Nelson too, is he country, even? I'd like to explore some of the newer stuff, it's just such a vast genre it's hard to know where to start. There's a lot of suck.

yeah I like Hank Williams Sr and Jr

Hank III is great too as he sounds alot like his grandfather

and Marty Brown was a favorite of mine from the early 90's and it really is too bad that he didn't come around in a different time

To keep your innocence in tact, you should probably not get too invested in the The Man in Black and The Weeded One.

I grew up on really old country. Sonny James' Traces is one of my all time favorites. Johnny Cash rocks. Travis Tritt's Great Day to be Alive is a must for a road trip, or any day the top of the Jeep is down. I don't really listen to country any more, but I did listen a lot in the 90's/early 00's when under the popness of the songs had some blues beats.

Also one that likes the older stuff, but not the new. Patsy Cline and Hank Williams, Sr. are both on heavy rotation on my iPod. I generally don't like much after the early 80s - Keith Whitley, Don Williams, David Allan Coe, Merle Haggard, Kenny Rogers, Dolly Pardon, Hank Williams, Jr., and Tammy Wynette are about as new as I get.

I just can't get into the stuff now.

Just discovered Ashton last week and love her. This thread is great for me because I haven't listened to the radio in years since i got my first ipod. I find new music by surfing and word of mouth.

I don't like any Sugarland I've heard so far, what should I check out?

Oh yeah, and I LOVE Jerrod Niemann! I saw him live the end of March and he wws great. I also discovered Lee Brice at that show, but I only like about half his album.
