Default Do you like Opera? Any suggestions or favorite songs?

I just found the Opera singer who did the voice of the blue diva in The Fifth Element. I think she has an incredible voice. I'm not an opera fan but the song is from a scene in an Opera that is referred to as the "Mad Scene"

I don't know anything about Opera at all but I was impressed with these two. Do any of you know have any recommendations. I usually can't stand Opera.

Here is the Albanian singer singing the Diva Dance song

I'm not a huge opera fan but I like this one. I heard this in the Shawshank Redemption. Duettino Sull'aria Le nozze di Figaro

I'm not big on opera, but I do like some of the classics.

I'm not an opera fan as a rule but some of Mozart's music is sublime.

Madame Butterfly, Puccini, Un bel di vedremo - best version by Raina Kabaivanska in 1983. Wait for the sensational "Aspetto" at the end. Absolutely awesome.

Unfortunately it was taken off YouTube due to Sony's copyrights, but it's still on DailyMotion:

I like opera though I am not terribly knowledgeable in it.

    Some of my favourite arias:

    Casta Diva (Norma):

And a music video with Angela Georghiu's interpretation which I also like. It was used in the soundtrack for the asian sci-fi film 2046.

    Vissi d'arte (Tosca)

O Mio Babbino Caro (Gianni Schicci) Puccini

Pretty much the entire Magic Flute (you can't go wrong with Mozart) especially Der Holle Rache kocht in meinem Herzen:

(lot's of talking, she doesn't start singing until 2 minutes in)

    Nessun Dorma (Turandot)

Very popular stuff, you've probably heard most of them.

His tonality and control was near perfection, imho.
