Default Classic or Cover? You choose.

I recently ended up in one of those 2am deeply drunken philosophical conversations about the merits of cover versions in comparison to the original track. So here's two versions of the same track to kick it off - say which you prefer and why, and then post the original and cover version of another song fto keep it going.

    Oh The Who no doubt!

    cool thread!

definitely the who. i don't care for limp bizkit at all. the who's version just sounds more classic. there's just no comparison, imo.

I think I'd go with Junior Murvin. Nice and chilled out, and I could imagine kicking back in the bath with that on.

    I'm feeling very evil now....

AC/DC - You Shook Me All Night Long

Or (apologies in advance...) Celine Dion and Anastacia

I have to say that I haven't been able to get any more than half way through the Celine version before I was stabbing at my mouse to stop it. CD made me think of all those times a parent has embarrassed you by getting drunk and trying to show all the "young 'uns" they they are still "with it".

Nobody willing to risk their hearing on Celine singing AC/DC? Ok, I'll try again.
