Default Tuesdays Gone with the wind...

There has been an on going arguement going on for a few years in my family so I am going to ask you guys.

Do you know the song Tuesdays Gone with the Wind? IF so, is Tuesday his woman or is he talking about the day of the week? Please help. Thanks.

Could be either, or both. Maybe they are trying to be devious, and have it be the day as well as the name of the woman. But if I have to choose only one, I would say the woman.

I am not really a fan of Skynrd but this all started when Metallica did a remake of it.

I thought it was the day of the week. My brother says it's a girl. Going over the lyrics, it could be one or the other. Just can't find enough info to figure out which.

Tuesday's a girl. "She had to leave"
And I love, love, LOVE that song! The original and Metallica's cover.

    Tuesday's Gone

Train roll on, on down the line,
Won't you please take me far away?
Now I feel the wind blow outside my door,
Means I'm leaving my woman behind.
    Tuesday's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the wind.

    And I don't know where I'm going.
I just want to be left alone.
Well, when this train ends I'll try again,
But I'm leaving my woman at home.

    (chorus)
    Tuesday's gone with the wind.
    Tuesday's gone with the wind.
    Tuesday's gone with the wind.
My woman's gone with the wind.

Train roll on many miles from my home,
See, I'm riding my blues away.
Tuesday, you see, she had to be free
But somehow I've got to carry on.

    (chorus)
The way they have it set up, it sound like his woman is
named Tuesday. And I don't think Lynyrd SKynyrd's lyrics
are clever enough to use a romantic lament about the
departure of Tuesday, the second day of the week.
That would be like AC/DC singing, "if Winter comes,
    can Spring be far Behind?"

When I first heard it I thought he was heading to jail.
She's gone, but she's staying at home.
