Sixto Rodriguez.. He was popular here in Australia & South Africa but never quite cracked it in the States. He is ultimately amazing and I think you should give him a listen, such a distinct beautiful voice/undiscovered gem. His song "Sugar Man" was featured in the Heath Ledger movie 'Candy'.
His best album is Cold Fact. Pure brilliance, if your interested, you should have a listen and you will not be disappointed.
