I'm sick of all those songs. I hate any Christmas song butchered by Celine Dion or Mariah. Just give me some Bing Crosby and Frank Sinatra Christmas, and I'm set.

Though I do love Oh Holy Night and Oh Come, Oh Come Emmanuel. (Even though I'm a recovering Catholic).

I love Eartha Kitt's Santa Baby. I really like O' Holy night, but I hate the cover by Mariah Carey...

The only Christmas song I really like is the Little Drummer Boy, by Johnny Cash of course. My Christmas music at the store is various Drummer Boys, and Johnny Cash's, Hymms by Johnny Cash, and other verious bible thumper songs by Johnny.

    I love the old classics!

I'm rather partial to the dog barking out Jingle Bells or whatever the hell it is he does. Basically I'm a sucker for Christmas songs, all and sundry. The cheesier the better. mr. butt made me vow that I wouldn't put on the Christmas albums until after Thanksgiving due to a little bit of over enthusiasm round about mid-October a few years back. I like the Lennon one the best, along with Fairytale of New York.

And don't we have this discussion every year? God, we're all getting old!

Edit: there is one song that is a spiritual one (can't remember name right now) where the guy hits a high note and the wine glasses start shattering. mr. butt and I die laughing every single year. It never gets old/we are boring.

I can't believe Wham's Last Christmas is not on the list.

All I want for Christmas is you? As much as I can't stand her, I love that song. It gets me in the spirit.

Me too. I went and listened to it immediately after Aella mentioned it.

However I agree about Feliz Navidad. It was the first Christmas song I heard this year and it made me want to rampage throughout the store. Unfortunately it was an all clothing boutique- nothing to smash.

I found what I believe to be the lowest circle of hell at the weekend. I had to venture into a store and as well as being stuck in a massive queue while endless christmas songs played on loop I was trapped behind a small, sugar-rushing child wearing musical reindeer antlers. It is probably the closest I have come to being arrested for assault.

As modern Christmas songs go I love Christmas Wrapping by the Waitresses, Fairytale Of New York, The Kinks Father Christmas which always makes me laugh...... and this old ELP song I Believe In Father Christmas because it reminds me of college

My all time favorite is the Mitch Miller Christmas album. We had it as kids and it had roughly 20 handy lyric sheets and when he was on telly they had the 'follow the bouncing ball' thing over the lyrics at the bottom of the screen. Good clean family entertainment you can trust!
