Thank goodness, I was beginning to think that I was the only one who liked Russell Crowe's acting. He was excellent in A Beautiful Mind and The Insider as well.
Al Pacino had him on his Top Five best actors list in GQ magazine a while back, along with Sean Penn, Johnny Depp, and I forget who else.

I agree, Anthony Quinn is one of the most unerrated actors of his time. He is right up there with Brando! He should have definitely been on this list!

Is this an error, or am I really seeing BRAD PITT sandwiched between Winslet and Hackman?

Brad Pitt? That has to be a joke, right?!
And I can't believe Johnny Depp came in at number 2. Don't get me wrong, I think he's entertaining and I often like his movies, but as far as his acting skills go....well, he's above average but not near iconic or legendary. I think he would even agree with me.
Are my eyes deceiving me, or is the unbelievably excellent Cate Blanchett not on this list? She is one of the best actresses of this generation.

exactly. one of the best. and winona ryder. and juliette lewis. and jessica lange. leonardo? karen black? vivien leigh? barbara stanwyck? judy holiday?
johnny depp is not #2. he's an ok actor but tends to play everything the same in his quirky little chaplinesque way. i've never seen the big deal. wigs and facial hair.
james dean was not really a great actor. he just died young.
BRAD PITT?????
you know what? this list is shit.

Meryl Streep at 26? Really? I'd put her top 20 or higher.
And, in general, there is not enough women on that list. I do love my divas.

Brad Pitt should not be on this. I'm also kind of doubtful about Kate Winslet and Helena Bonham Carter.
