I love the sound of a true Southern accent. It's so classy. Something Jessica definitely is not. I hate when she says "but I want it." So fake sounding.

There were many Irish and Scottish people who settled here in the Southeast. This is how "mountain music" came about. Same goes for "clogging", it's very similar to Irish dancing. The influence is definitely here and no doubt had great impact on the Southern accent. Even though it may be from way back, just about everyone I know in the Southeast has at least a little Irish and/or Scottish blood.

Including me, and proud of it!!
Oh, and I totally agree about how dumb it sounds when she says, "I want it" -- it sounds like she's saying, "I won't it." Makes me wanna hurl.
