LOL!!! I can't believe that I looked it up!!!
The designer iris: keep an eye on Dior
Christian Dior, most famous for its haute couture clothes, handbags, makeup and the bestselling perfume J'adore, is to put its distinctive logo in a more unusual place: eyes. The fashion house has come up with two sets of contact lenses, designed by John Galliano for the Dior Eyes range. The lenses will create the illusion of either a golden or a black ring around the iris. They will also contain a miniature CD logo.
Previously, contact lenses have been the preserve of the short-sighted, those who wanted to change their eye colour, or clubbers who wanted to transform their eyes with bizarre patterns such as tiger's stripes. "These innovative contact lenses don't change eye colours, but rather enhance them with a special technical process exclusive to Dior," said Safilens, the contact lens maker.

I'm the opposite. I have blue eyes and wear brown contacts from time to time! I much prefer the look of darker eyes.

Someone was wondering how her eyes could keep up with wearing those contacts 24/7 (apparently, at least) for so many years... non stop.
Well, I don't have the links to those articles here, but it was about two weeks ago that I saw in some blogs such as Hollywood rag or Iamnotobsessed.com, not sure, an article precisely on Paris Hilton's latest eyes-related problems.
They mentioned the problem with her wonky eye, and problems over the exaggerated used of contact lenses on her, precisely. Apparentlyher ophtalmologist or some ophtalmologist was very concerned over it and she needs some sort of surgery... sorry can't remember the details! Look it up on google by paris hilton eyes and contact lenses and something will show up.
I use soft disposable contact lenses, yhave been using them for more than ten years, non stop... but have taken good care of my eyes. I make sure to moisturize often my eyes and clean them often and sleep or spend some time without them each day or almost each day... I am not sure anyone could do that, or take good care of contacts, in general, if living "on the go", in parties, etc.
With her partying ways, she must spend often more than 24 hours with her lenses on, without changing htem, cleaning them and the Lord kows what. No woder she'd end up with some problems.
On a sidenote, an ophtalmologist told me that if you wear contacts non stop and do not moisturize your eyes often or take them out here and there, you are more likely to develop , *over time*(usually years), an allergy to them and/or start suffering from itching, and be prone to corneal ulcers or infections just by upping the changes of infections and lacerations by touching the eyes more often... I wonder if it is her case.

I'm also incredibly carefully but I still managed to develop viral conjunctivitus.... Also, even with judicial wear of my glasses & removing my lenses after 8 hours wear developed that thing where your blood vessels grow differently & come to the surface!
Now I wear my glasses the majority of the time, untill summer (because the sun triggers my migrains); well until I investied in psycho "reactor-lites" that colour...
Bu my coloured lenses didn't cause this, just normal wear & tear

It's a personal preference and everything but colored contacts usually look like lifeless doll eyes to me, even if they're expensive or whatever. They're the most important part of a face to me and I don't understand why anyone would want to hide them or make them look fake.
Besides like someone already mentioned, she'll still be ugly with the blue contacts.

I do wear contacts on days I feel like making a subtle change. My eyes are really sensitive and by the end of the day, my eyes become very irritated. Contacts drys my eyes out, I could never wear them on a daily basis like she does

I felt that wearing coloured contacts was a bit like being able to wear sunglasses indoors. I know I used to use them to shield me.
Having weird pale blue eyes I'd wear hazel or green ones. I had some blue ones but they'd freak people out.

I have darkish blue eyes and the flower (pattern) in my eyes consists of brown dots. My mom has light green eyes and her flower consists of orange and yellowish dots. So I'm guessing our eyes would look fake to some people, too.

speaking of contacts how long does it take you guys to put it in? lol, the first time I put them in myself it took me an hour! I fumbled and it kept on slipping out of my finger, once they were in they felt uncomfortable. The good thing is I have mastered it, it now takes me 5mins to pop em in. I would wear them more often but like I said, they irritate and make my eyes red after 5 to 6 hours. I also need to use liquid drops every now and then to stop them drying out

I started with hard lenses over 20 years ago, you have to wear them for 30 mins per day extra to build up LOL!
For me it depends how hydrated I am, some days they pop right in, other days it takes me 2 lenses per eye...
I use daily disposables because they have a higher water %. I also have to ensure that I look after my tear ducts as I suffer from dry eyes too, fortunately not as bad as you, love. Poor thing! Have you made sure you optician has got you the highest water content ones that you can wear?
I find the new ones quite amazing considering what we started with! (in the dark ages... I know!)

Lol! My optician can always tell when I've been busy at work. He told me that when you're looking at a VDU, we don't tend to blink enough! So that doesn't help either!

great! I use a computer at work 24/7, seriously I think my eyes are going slowly. I actually got them checked out recently, the optician told me my tests are inconsistent and is not sure if I need glasses! what the hell does that mean? (I guess see another optician who is more qualified LOL)
