I think they do so much shit for attention nowadays it's hard to tell.
I'm more fascinated with the psychos from back when that shit was/would have been a major scandal.
For instance, I've heard plenty of stories about how batshit insane Natalie Wood was.

She was a drinker and loud. She always spoke her mind. They just didn't know how to handle a woman so bold and did the unthinkable. I thought a lobotomy but turns out to be electro shock therapy.

They did not lobotomize her; just some a little Electro Shock Therapy.

She was quite a character, cursing out people in the courtroom and behaving erratically. I forgot about the electro shock. Poor woman.

I think Frances Farmer was just willful and aggressive in an era that wasn't amenable to that kind of behaviour from a female.
I completely forgot about Anne Heche! Damn it. She definetly deserves a category of her own.
I'm not so schooled on Margot Kidder but she sounds certifiable as well.
Joan Crawford was more of a raging, ruthless bitch than crazy I think. But 'bitch' back in those days equalled crazy. I take the resentful, fame-whoring adopted daughter's account with a grain of salt.
Vivien Leigh was a little nutty in her later years...but she had a diagnosed mental illness. I think she was bipolar. Of course it wasn't known by that name back then.

I went with Joan because she's the one I'd want angry at me the least.
Courtney Love has that trailer park quality that makes you think she could do anything though, so it was a close call.

Joan Crawford, but Heather Mills runs a very close second.

Frances Farmer also wrote an autobiography, which was heartbreaking. A lot of the biggest bitches aren't on the list: Faye Dunaway, Sharon Stone and Bette Davis (even though I lover her acting she was a bitch on wheels).

Glenn Close in Damages. Freak of nature, she is. I'd say she's the original bunny-boiler, but that would be the portrayer, not the character.

A lot of those other celebs had related substance abuse issues, but Heather Mills is running on pure crazy! Plus she's probably criminally insane. I just pray she doesn't wind up murdering anybody.
Too bad Tonya Harding wasn't on the list. Not to mention all those women who are famous just for being crazy - Amy Fisher - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
