Another interesting thing was that in one of the videos we watched, the daughter who had been molested as a child (she was an adult at the time of filming) was STILL very protective of her stepfather and tried to deny that he actually ever intended to molest her. She felt that he had such great love for her that he just didn't know how to show it in an appropriate way. It was really bizarre.
SB: When I was starting out as a therapist I had a female client who was in her thirties. On the surface she appeared to be very prim and normal, coming from an intact nuclear family that was into religion/church, the whole nine yards. She was seeking therapy to address some depression she was experiencing in conjunction with a diagnosis of Chron's disease.

She shared one day that her dad had molested her (started with touching, ended up being full on penetration). She was most worried about me having bad thoughts about her father for doing this, as she was very protective of him. The abuse started in her teens and she blamed her mother for not being more sexually available to her father, causing him to turn to incest with her. I did need to point out to her that for a man not being sexually pleased by his wife, there are many other options besides having sex with his 14 yr old daughter.

OOO I forgot one.......ok heres another BI for your pleasure, witnessed first hand

"Smug Hollywood Actor and son"

what hollywood actor and father (married with a very nice wife) who had a son-who i think was around my age, possibly a little younger (who I went to a performing arts camp with)- came up to the camp one day, did an acting and video workshop and caused a bit of a scene? He was wearing a white wifebeater, sunglasses indoors, and a smug half grin the whole time. Lets just say he was more then a little full of himself....but who could blame him when the whole camp, conselours included, were kissing his butt? Because it was like a million DEGREES out he demanded someone fan him and provide ice water every hour on the hour. It was hot outside that August, but not as hot as him in person ....haha. Oh yeah and unfortunetely his son wasn't as blessed in the gene pool, he had jet blue dyed hair and was short and pudgy....he did, however, have a way with the ladies anyways- he musta had some personality., because he was seen (by me personally) laying under the stars on blankets with many, many different girls....rumor was they were also shacking up in the "music shack." He was young at the time, but who can blame the guy? He became popular because of his pops. Lol

Hints- He's (the actor/father) a real "WILD" one
-I was about 14 or 15 at the time....I think his son was a year younger then me
-he doesn't just have one child

I'm going to guess Kevin Bacon.

1) Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon
2) Movie River Wild
3) Wears wife beaters on occasion
4) Has a son named Travis
5) Has a daughter too and a nice wife (Kyra)

How did I do?

Haha you guys are so good......quick thinkers. It was kevin bacon and travis (who has his own band now i think)

Only thing I just realized, I actually meant 'wild' for 'wild things' but i guess it works two ways...oh yeah and kyra was really nice. They did seem like a very in love couple

One more.

I think it's ecstacy. Look at her pupils!
Shit, what sad pics.

I think that white shit in her mouth is crank. (Meth, whatever you want to call it.) Just the look on her face in some of the pics. Plus, there are some close-ups of her skin in some shots, not looking too good. Sad, very sad.

I think it's wrong. Because molestation of children is a very serious matter and should not be discussed lightly. So, unless you have a degree in child psychology (for example) I think it's wrong for regular laypeople like us GR folk that don't know these celebs to say that it's "LIKELY" she was molested. It's wrong wrong WRONG. You can say you suspect it, but you should NOT say it's "likely." That implies you're privy to some personal information regarding the Simpson family. And you're not. I'm with you, Cali. I suspect Papa Joe's just a pervy control freak.

PS: Woo hoo, nycgirly!! That was awesome!

I hear ya'. But that's just it, she's just a girl. (Though I know she's of legal age and all.)

It's just that I think, WTF is wrong with her mother? Does she just look away from her daughter's drug use because they are her meal ticket? Guess that's what I find so sad.

I don't live in an area where celebs are seen, so these may be boring to you guys but they are fun for me. And they aren't new items; my apologies for that.

My dad was an extra in "Blue Sky." He said all of the stars in that movie with whom he came into contact were very nice and pleasant to all of those extras, especially Powers Boothe. He said that Jessica Lange had her daughter on location and pretty much kept to herself, but was very pleasant all the same.

Last year, I met Isaac Hayes on a flight to DC and back. I was too chicken to ask for his autograph on the way up; just shook his hand and said I was a fan of his music. When I saw him at Regan National (in the small A terminal) the next day, he was so gracious to those who came up to him. And he was very...mellow. Just a nice guy. He didn't balk at being asked for his autograph, and looked and sounded genuinely happy when people talked with him. He also didn't proselytize.

Here is my new theory:

Tom was probably very accommodating at first, but, like a typical abuser, became very demanding and controlling as the "relationship" progressed.
About 4 years ago, a former neighbor's daughter went to college at a university in one of the Carolinas -- can't remember which school/Carolina. She'd been dating a cousin of Cruise (I didn't know he had family in any of the Carolinas) and said that when she went with this guy to his family's house for Christmas, his family was angry because of the way he was treating Nicole and that "Tom was keeping the children from Nicole -- not letting her see them." I didn't put much stock in it then; but over the past few years, have seen scads of pics and stories of him with their children, and few reports of Nicole having / seeing them.

You severely underestimate the power and reaches of this cult. It's terrifying actually.
You're not kidding. They sued Germany because Germany wouldn't give the church non-profit status because Germany didn't recognize Scientology as a religion. There was a lengthy article in the NYT and also in TIME magazine about this and other allegedly specious aspects of this organization.

Further, a website called The Cult Awareness Network had a lengthy entry backed up by fact and citations of this organization, and the owner of the website was sued. Guess who owns the website now? And all negative entries regarding this organization have been scrubbed from the site.

Ok, I love this thread and don't want to hijack it, but I don't see a problem with this. I'm not a scientologist but I have had contact with them, I went to a scientologist school for a year. I don't think there's anything wrong with a new religion fighting for equal recognition of it's status, or with them countering allegations that they are a cult. Honestly, wouldn't you do the same? I do admit that they seem odd, but that does NOT make them a cult, and really, at it's core, is believing in aliens any more a leap of faith than believing Jesus was the son of God, that Moses heard God speak to him or any number of other beliefs of mainstream religions? It all takes a certain suspension of reality in the hope that you'll gain some sort of peace.

The entire time I went to the scientologist school no one ever attempted to indoctrinate me, brainwash me, etc. On a whole it was a very positive expirience, and they were very nice people.

Oh and it's been a while since I've lived in LA, but here's some things off the top of my head:

My friend's mother is a masseuse with many celebrity clients, including Barbra Streisand and Madonna (both for years).

One night at 2 am the phone rang, it was Babs' personal assistant saying she wanted a massage right then and my friend's mom should come over to her house right now. Of course, the masseuse says no, but that she could schedule her for the next morning. The assistant tells Babs. Babs gets on the phone yelling at the masseuse things like "how dare you" and "I want it right now." So the masseuse/my friends mom lets her go on, and when she finally stops, tells her she will no longer be available to massage her and never to call again. I love that woman. Really love her. She's the sweetest woman in the world and Babs must have beeing REALLY bad to make her tell her off.

As far as Madonna goes, she said that for the first year or so she was really cold, wouldn't talk, didn't trust anyone etc. But that once she got used to my friend's mom she warmed up and actually was very nice. Whenever she had CD's coming out she'd bring signed copies for my friends mom and her kids.

One time I was about to see a movie at Century City Shopping Center and my sister and I were messing around. She pushed me and I fell into Jay Leno. He kind of looked at me like I meant to do it, and kept walking. No joke, he had an entourage of at least 20 people with him.

Another time I was at Al Gelato, an ice cream place on Robertson and this girl was sitting and had her legs crossed with the top leg kind of jutting into the isle-way. On accident I tripped and pretty much kicked her in the leg hard. When I looked over, it was Selma Blair. She was VERY sweet about it, mostly didn't want to be noticed by people I think. She was beautiful in person, and although skinny, didn't look too skinny (and was eating ice cream!)

I also worked at this place where Amy Smart came in all the time. She was very sweet, but wow, the girl needs about 5 sandwiches a day for a year.

I'll try and remember more.
