She has mentioned in the press that she had a serious drinking problem when she was young and that she was a complete mess. This could have been one of the reasons she hooked up with this dude. There is also the possibility that she was self-medicating with alcohol and sex with dudes because she didn't want to admit to herself that she was gay. Throw some drugs in the mix and it reminds me of some lesbians I know...*cough* my ex-girlfriend, and some I don't... *cough* Lilo

Several years ago I worked with someone who went to college with and dated a famous young starlet/model. He said that both Cruise and Kidman were gay and that it was a well kept secret in Hollywood. This info goes back to late 80's

Oprah doesn't seem the kind of person who would keep other people's secrets, particularly if they're assholes. She's got deep pockets too. Besides that, truth is the perfect defense.

The unfortunate truth is, when someone accuses a celebrity of something like being gay, the celebrity is the one that has the burden of proof to prove it's NOT true. People are always willing to believe the worst about someone. How does a male celebrity prove he's not gay? Denying it doesn't work. Having a girlfriend doesn't work (she's just a beard). Even having a wife and children doesn't work (professional beard, artificial insemination).

No defense of Tom or John Travolta or whoever, but doesn't it seem absolutely over the top to actually marry and impregnate a woman you don't love and stay married to her for years all for the sake of image? Why go to all that trouble? Why not just date around a lot and be a confirmed bachelor like Clooney (not saying he's gay)?

Why go to all the trouble. Because it's his career and he seems to have invested a number of years maintaining this false persona.

My guess is that George Clooney gets away with it because of his sense of humor and he appears to be well-liked. You just don't get the sense from his interviews that he is full of himself.

Tom Cruise on the other hand takes himself very seriously (I suspect he is another Narcissist. ) I have my doubts that he is well liked (by his peers) and definitely not by his "underlings" . He does not appear to have any sense of humor (although he tries). His career rose because of his leading-man(sex symbol) status. With all the humors and A. Morton's book, I think that's going down the tubes.

Yes I believe this also. There are many famous celebrities who have been around for years, that you never read a peep of gossip about (it could really be that there is none) but this is my theory:

l. They are powerful in the industry and immensely charming. People are afraid to gossip about them or are well-paid not to talk. Girlfriends are made to sign confidentialty agreements. Call girls don't talk.

2. The people around them (groupies) and the media work to protect their public persona (until their stardom starts to decline or their false persona gets exposed in small increments, to the public).

Only when their career is in the dupster or they have passed on, do the gloves come off and all the dirt comes out.

I don't think Suri is Tom's because:

He didn't have kids with Mimi Rogers and she wanted them. She remarried and did have kids.

He did not have kids with Nicole but adopted. The same year they divorced Kidman had a miscarriage supposedly by her co-star in Moulin Rouge. She is now pregnant

If he's shooting blanks, I think he would probably look to someone in his own family as a donor such as a cousin.

Unfortunately being gay in some circles would mean that they cut their earning power (plus hollywood doesn't think that we can separate fact from fiction), and also in some countries it is still illegal...

I have to admit that the "he's sterlise" statement always gets me. A man can have such a low sperm count that it makes him "infertile" or can have issues with his sperm that means under "normal" circumstances he's not going to get a woman preggers. A man can be classed as sterile but still have functional sperms (and therefore is able to have a baby via IVF).
Mimi Rodgers didn't have children with her first husband and only did so when she was 39 or so with her now 3rd husband... I can think of any number of reasons for waiting.... plus any fertility treatment "normally" takes 3 years to work through all the checks, tests, etc....

Having said all that my vote is with either Chris Klein or Mr Hartnett

hardly gossip, but kind of funny:

Karl Rove was en route to the Bush complex here in Maine a few days ago but got held up in Portland and stayed in the hotel across from the bar where I work. My boyfriend was bartending when all these people came in from the hotel and said they'd spotted him checking in, no security, no fanfare. They were all appalled he was staying in the same place as them, haha.

No juicy gossip on that, unfortunately. If I find out anything more I'll update...sadly celebrities are few and far between here in Portland, Maine...
