I've met a bunch of minor celebs, a few Buffy folks, some people from Lord of the Rings and such. I think my fave was Craig Charles from Red Dwarf, and John Rhys-Davis who played Gimli in Lord of the Rings. The only person who was ever off with me was Nicky Brendan from Buffy, but I think he was jetlagged. Chris Judge who's Tealc in Stargate was looovely, called my friend and I sweethearts and was just generally gorgeous. Hurley from Lost was shy as hell! Billy Boyd was lovely too, totally cool and really friendly.

i met the british pop band girls aloud. all of them were quite nice especially nadine (the oen dating jesse) she was very talkative and nice, same with the blodne sarah. kimberly gave me a hug and cheryl kissed me on the cheek. nicola was quiet but nice and they all signed my cd. cheryl kinda came across as abit bitchy she didnt wanna sign my friends tshirt which he had made it had all this girls aloud stuff on it but she did anyway, she talked on her fone alot and this was at the time there was the whole controversy that her fiancee had a gay affair with fellow team-mates. lol.

funny, but my uncle met gwyneth paltrow a few years back in NYC, said she was very nice, but she was with some complete ASSHOLE that kept swearing at her.

my dad once went to the IVY in LA, and sat in a table next to destiny's child. he had no clue who the were but thought they were famous cos it was a birthday party for one of the members and there were bags with expensive designers names.

Personally, I haven't met a celebrity, but my friend did. She was partying at a local club, and guess who dropped by? It was Luke Wilson, and his entourage. My friend and her buddies hung out with him, and soon she found out Luke Wilson was doing coke in front of them.

My friend was at a club here with some girls from work & Michelle Rodriguez was there with a few other chicks. Apparently MR took a liking to my friend's co-worker cos she kept hitting on her ALL night, even going so far as to invite them back to her place. Needless to say, she was denied.

Great stories. I've met a few celebrities...I'm too lazy to write them all out now, but I'll tell you about some of my meetings...

Antonio Sabato Jr. is an asshole. He's also a lot skinnier in person. He filmed a t.v. pilot at my work.

Catherine Zeta Jones looks exactly the same in person and is exactly the same as she is on tv. She wasn't snotty..they were filming Traffic and she was out there signing autographs. She was pregnant at the time and was very friendly. What struck me about her was her hair...it's so dark and her eyes are so very light brown. She looks a little asian. She's very pretty, very striking and I loved he accent. She was also wearing silver nailpolish on her toes...lol

James Earl Jones...this man isn't as big in person and he looks yellow, not black. His voice is so deep too. We were both standing at the baggage terminal waiting for our luggage. I did ask him for his autograph. He seemed a little bit rushed, in a hurry, but I don't blame him now that I think of it. He wasn't rude, but I can understand him wanting to find his bags.

I also met Dan Akroyd. He filmed a tv show at my job too. He is fat. He looks the same and he's a total clown. But yeah, he's very overweight.

I saw Latoya Jackson at the mall years ago. She is a tiny little thing. She is not pretty. She has a face that has obviously been touched with tons of plastic surgery. Her nose is practically non-existent.

I've met Matthew Broderick. He's funny and really cute. I think he's better looking in person than tv. He was also at our mall.

Bob Dole the politician looks younger in person. I saw him at the Republican National Convention in 1996. His arm is all jacked up. I never noticed it on t.v. but yeah, in person, his arm is severely injured from his military service. That was sort of sad. I got a deeper respect for him for that when I actually saw it.

Edward James Olmos is really ugly! That man's face is full of scars. He was a speaker at this Latino convention I went to at San Diego State University. I saw him really close up.

I saw Elton John in concert and saw him walking around the casino floor at Caesar's Palace afterwards last year. He was there with his body guards. He is a little short shit! He must be 5'2" if that.

I also saw Clint Eastwood at L.A.X. (Los Angeles International Airport) 10 or 15 yrs ago. He was walking through the airport alone and I yelled "HI CLINT!!!" and he waved...haha!

I was on a flight to Washington D.C. back in 1999 and as I'm walking to my seat, I pass through First Class and I seen Geraldo Rivera. He was on his laptop. He looked young (not in his 50's) and he looked lighter in person. For some reason he looks darker complected on t.v. He's actually not. They must pack on that dark makeup for the cameras.

...anyway, I'll write more later...I'm sleepy now.

Default Have you ever met a celebrity?

rightio i live in a small town in queensland australia aka whoop whoop. Celebrity sightings are rare here the only reason celebs come to my area is to visit Australia Zoo. Unfortunatly im never at the right place at the right time. My brush with "celebrity" (if its even called that!) is having dinner with Terri Irwin (croc hunters wife) she ate my cheesecake coz she had the munchies while pregnant with baby bob. She was very down to earth and natural (average??) quite scary considering she has more money than she know what to do with.

My story sucks but id love to hear if other people here have met celebs, what your impressions of them are etc.

Not long ago, within two months, I met Jordan Knight (New Kids On The Block), Matthew Ashford (soap opera actor from DOOL), and Apl. de. Ap (Black Eyed Peas). They were all nice guys particularly Apl. de. Ap.

Ok, most of mine are British and second-hand but I'll write them anyway. I've starred some of their names because I don't want them googling and finding what i've written about them.

George M*chael
Pretty boring cos everyone knows it now but I worked with a man who knew/worked with him and says ALL he does is sit at home and smoke pot. Wasn't too surprised when this came out though.

Tony Sl*ttery
English comedian, actor. Had his own sitcom, was in The Crying Game etc. Adorable, handsome, incredibly shy and genuinely funny and interesting but a bit of a cokehead who likes the drink a bit. Funniest way of smoking I've ever seen and seems to have damaged the inside of his nose cos he sniffs all the time.

Paul Weller (of The Jam)
My brother goes to school with his daughter and knows him on first name terms. Very nice man by all accounts.

Sir Richard Attenborough
Haven't met the man but once when driving through Fulham he stopped in the middle of traffic in front of us and walked across the road (don't know why) leaving his wife and car in the middle of the traffic. Pretty inconsiderate, but then his daughter and grandaughters died in the tsunami so I feel a bit bad slagging him off.

Dolly Parton
My uncle worked with her and just fell in love.

Dennis H*pper
Again, same man who knows George Michael, knows him and apparently he is a bastard and made actresses cry on a film he was working on.

Hugh Laurie (House) & Stephen Fry
My mum was friends with Hugh Laurie at college and acquaintances with Stephen Fry. Hugh Laurie is lovely and Stephen Fry always seemed nice as well.

And a bunch of footballers - including the current England captain but their either boring or possibly libelous so I'll keep schtum.

Pictures of the ones you might not know;

Tony, Paul Weller, Richard Attenborough, Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry cuddling Jude Law...as you do.

I met him loads of times. The reserve team used to play literally down the road from me when I was about 15/16 and they would come down to watch their mates.
JT seems sweet enough, held doors open for me sometimes and that sort of stuff but was a little bit too fond of staring in a not very subtle way for my liking. Kinda ruined him for me though cos I'm really shy.

Now one person I definitely wouldn't mind meeting is Alessandro Nesta...

I met Richard Gere when I was aged 14. He was filming "Yanks" in Saddleworth where I was born and grew up. I was out riding with some friends when we came upon the film set - their camp, we had no idea what was going on and saw all these "American" soldiers. This absolutely drop dead gorgeous man sauntered over and chatted to us and stroked my very badly behaved pony. I had no idea at the time who we were talking to. I still like Richard Gere - even though he may now be a total arse! My first big crush I suppose. Such a pity we didn't have a camera with us. Probably the most exciting thing that ever happened where I grew up ... apart from the Moors Murders and Harold Shipman!

Fast forward to 1998, I was on a sailing holiday in Turkey with my husband. This really nice (and very expensive) yacht was mooring in the same area as us for a couple of days. I was sat on the gangplank of our gulet reading a book at around 9am in the morning with a coffee in my hand. This fairly shortish dark haired man said "good morning", I just smiled and said "morning" back ... I then nearly choked on my coffee as I had just spoken to Dustin Hoffman and hadn't even realised it. Apparently he was (is) a fairly normal friendly bloke.

A couple of years back I was shoe shopping in Leeds at Russell & Bromley, I was looking at something in the window, a very tall slim blonde woman smiled at me, and spoke to my little boy. It was Twiggy. She was lovely, she has aged beautifully, a really lovely looking woman.
