Thats because THEIR self-esteem got better after losing weight, and they became more sexual. NOT that their husbands suddenly became attracted to them again. I have been privy to some of my married men's comments regarding their sex life, and when their wife feels insecure about their body, their sex life suffers. And ALL of them said they didn't understand it, because to them, their wife still looked amazing. I think more women put emphasis on how skinny a woman is than a man, unless of course if you're under 21. Its sad that some women worry their husband will leave if they gain weight. Seriously, thank God for my husband, I know if I went from a size 4 to a size 14 tomorrow, he would still find me sexy. Because he has great character and was raised right. And I know alot of men like that.

I've been married 12 years, and I'm 10 lbs. heavier than when we met, but it makes NO difference to my husband at all. In fact, if you asked him, he would probably tell you I'm better looking today than the day he proposed. I don't know if that's empirically true, but DH and I are very best friends, and I am the mother of his children, and our relationship is so much more than sex and appearances.
I think if I gained 50 lbs, yes, maybe my husband would be a bit less attracted to me. But that doesn't mean he's going to throw everything we have away and cheat on me with the first hot young thing that winks at him. We have a long history together - we dated 4 years before we got married. He respects that and he knows it would all be fractured beyond repair if he cheated.
Yes, an attractive spouse is a top priority for most men. But there is a very broad definition of attractive, and yes, an overweight woman can be attractive and very sexy if she carries herself well.

Oh, I agree. I did gain around 50 pounds and my husband didn't leave me but things weren't nearly as good as far as the touchy feely goes. Now that I have lost the weight I get the "sexy" comments and touching non-stop. which is good...hahaha

Why don't "we" as a viewing public question it as much when a really hot woman is with a larger or unattractive man? We don't trash the unattractive or fat men the way we do the unattractive or fat women. We suck a little for this.

Um, yeah we do. Prime example, when it came out that Salma Hayek was engaged and pregnant. You should have SEEN the comments about her fiancee...brutal.

but he was more "unattractive" (to some - I thought he was cute, but my prime attraction points are short ginger & balding....) than "fat".
