Websleuths moderator is a convicted child molester

I don't know where else to put this! I'm sorry, but aside from disgust I have an overwheleming sense of schadenfreude. This is the toothless old bitch who sat around smoking and eating while Leonard Padilla conducted his media circus of a search for Caylee Anthony at Blanchard Park in Orlando.~

NoticesDear Websleuths Members, It was with great shock and dismay that we learned today that our Moderator Windchime was convicted of child sexual abuse in 1992. I want to assure you that no one on our staff knew about this until today. Windchime has been removed from Websleuths. Please understand we work strictly on a volunteer basis. We choose our moderators and administrators based on their performance on Websleuths. I will be talking with our lawyers to see about the legal aspect of requiring all Websleuths volunteers to submit to a full criminal background check to make sure this does not happen again. Wow... I've been a little interested in that board's drama ever since some GR posters complained about the place in our Caylee Anthony thread. I went over & checked it out, and windchime was the one who seemed practically illiterate.

Well, it's a long story, LOL. Websleuths is a pretty heavily-moderated crime board and had a shakeup last year when the owner banned tons of long-standing members. They went on to start their own boards and blogs and it's pretty much been board wars since then.

Among other things, Websleuths and its owner have been criticized for their behavior during a Caylee Anthony search, in part because they hawked t-shirts for their members to wear during the search. Many of them treated the search for remains of a dead child like it was a social gathering. The admin Windchime attended the search, but spent her time sitting at a picnic table smoking, eating and taking pictures. She also harassed the Anthony family. And appeared on the local news, where she revealed her real name.

From what I gather, someone from one of the feuding blogs decided to run background checks on some people and hit the jackpot with "Windchime" who was convicted of some pretty nasty acts involving her former stepchildren.

Nice, huh?

Of course, the Websleuths owner immediately banned this woman, who's been there since 2003, but won't allow any discussion of what happened.

Oh, I was already banned from there after a day because I suggested that a discussion about Caylee is not the right place to talk about whatever stupid thing they did that day. Just seemed sort of disrespectful? Like oh got my nails down how is your DD well my DD is fine got in a fight with my DH, and so on. Seems pretty stupid.

Twinkie (aka Tricia) wants an ISP email address since they generally contain your full name. Of course there was nothing/no info on WS about needing an ISP email address until a few months ago

They won't take email address from hotmail or gmail, places like that. I had use an old address that's linked to a former ISP.

This situation has gotten me interested in that board's drama, and let me just tell you people that you can burn up some hours digging into this ugly mess. There are some very, very hard feelings out there in connection to that board. One google search leads to another, and... wow.
