Here's an interesting history of the founding of Sci, as L Ron sets up the Space Academy by stealing money from Jack Parson (Jet Propulsion Laboratory - that Parsons), and ideas from anyone who had them (he didn't have many of his own, despite his claims to have cornered the market on genius) - especially Aleistar Crowley.

This article is the first in a series of articles based upon research into the roots of the Hubbardian philosophy that gave birth to the "Sacred Scriptures" of the Church of Scientology

Ron Hubbard, and how he used these materials to form the core of his secret "Sacred Scriptures"

The ransacking of the FACTNET files and data base by the OSA Raid Team was not unexpected and the timing of the raid, not surprisingly, corresponded to the scheduled release date of this material. FACTNET Co-Director Arnie Lerma's computers and personal files were also ransacked by OSA raiders.

FACTNET hopes these series of articles will create meaningful dialogue and that all readers will give this report, and future reports, the widest distribution on the Internet and other areas of Cyberspace, and amongst the general public.

"The magical cults of the 8th, 9th, 10th, 11th and 12th centuries in the Middle East were fascinating. The only modern work that has anything to do with them is a trifle wild in spots, but is a fascinating work in itself, and that's the work of Aleister Crowley - the late Aleister Crowley - my very good friend." In 1950, L Ron Hubbard wrote the book "Dianetics, the Modern Science of Mental Health." In 1952, the term "Scientology" was introduced. Corporate status was received by Scientology in 1954 in California. Since that time, "Scientology" has been repeatedly questioned for it's bogus claims of medical healing and unexplained deaths.
Dianetics and Scientology founder L Ron Hubbard's personal references as a "war hero," or "nuclear physicist," are just a few of Scientology's false claims to recruit the unknowing.
Scientology didn't begin "acting" like, or operating as a "church" until 1969, when they were engaged in litigation with the FDA. Hubbard began issuing policies to members such as in Hubbard Communication Policy Letter of 12 February 1969:

"All Orgs are now Churches; Stationary is to reflect fact that orgs are churches; All public literature must state that Scn is religious." It also states, "This may or may not be publically acceptable. This is NOT the point. It is a requisite defense." Hubbard Organization Executive Course,
(1969 version) Volume 6, Page 119

Members carried "crossed out crosses" into their establishments and were told to wear ministerial collars. "Alternative mental health and medicine" was now "healing." L Ron Hubbard avoided the exposure of the fraudulent medical practices of "Scientology" by becoming a so-called "church."
Many of the methods and ideology that Hubbard used in Scientology are taken from other sources. The mixture of using different teachings has long been associated to include the occult, since it is a known fact that L Ron Hubbard was familiar with the writings of "black magician," Aleister Crowley's work since Hubbard was a teen.
Crowley, a self-declared "beast" and "anti-Christ," once headed the British "Ordo Templi Orientis," (OTO) branch, and established those teachings in the United States in 1916, during World War I in Europe. Crowley's OTO teachings of magick included the Golden Dawn and that of Thelemic Law.
Influences of Aleister Crowley are found in Scientology "technology," or teaching materials - including L Ron Hubbard's own admission that he was the "anti-Christ." Aleister Crowley died in 1947. But in 1969, the same year that Scientology donned the crosses and minister's garb, was the same time that the "Thoth Tarot Card Deck" was published and sold, (a product produced years before, by Aleister Crowley with artist Lady Frieda Harris, (deceased in 1962.) This was the same year that L Ron Hubbard directed members to bring in the crossed out cross and wear minister's clothing.
Another well known fact of L Ron Hubbard's association with Aleister Crowley and the teachings of magick was his relationship with John Whiteside Parsons. In 1941, Parsons joined the California-based Agape lodge of Aleister Crowley's Ordo Templi Orientis, (OTO.)

"He, (emphasis-Parsons) considered that Ron had great magical potential and took the risk of breaking his solemn oath of secrecy to acquaint Ron with some of the O.T.O. rituals.... Nevertheless, Parsons clearly remained convinced that Ron possessed exceptional powers....Parsons wrote to his 'Most Beloved Father' (emphasis - his term for Aleister Crowley) to acquaint him with events: 'About three months ago I met Captain L. Ron Hubbard.... Although he has no formal training in Magick, he has an extraordinary amount of experience and understanding in the field. From some of his experiences I deduced that he is in direct touch with some higher intelligence, possibly his Guardian Angel. He describes his Angel as a beautiful winged woman with red hair whom he calls the Empress and who has guided him through his life and saved him many times. Taking off the kid gloves, Scientology lawyers put as much pressure as a quasi-church can create on a Florida judge to attempt to quash a $265 million lawsuit brought by ex-Scientologist Peter Letterese that names the church and film star Tom Cruise as complicit.

The Church, repped by attorney Allen Perlman and federal bankruptcy trustee attorney John Genovese, started by trying on Wednesday to appeal to federal Judge John K. Olson to strip Letterese of his longtime attorney, Charles Franken.

In his ruling on Scientology's brief, Judge Olson claimed that Franken's presence in the case would hurt Letterese's company and should therefore be dismissed. Letterese contends that Judge Olson did not allege that any law nor any professional codes of ethics had been broken by Franken.

Though Letterese has contended that Cruise is running the church's interest alongside Church leader David Miscavige, he cites documents that Scientology distributed that apparently did not deny Letterese's contention. Letterese takes that as proof positive that Cruise is in charge of the worldwide operation.

Scientology reps could not be reached to comment on Letterese's assertions.

Tom cruise is public and not a church staff member. He is a respected member of Scientology but doesn't have anything to do with the every day decision making or running of it.

Each Church is run like a separate business. Monies made each week are tallied, all expenses are deducted and if there is anything left it is divided up amongst staff members of that church. Some get more than others depending on how long they have been on staff, their experience etc. Every church follows the same method of distribution as layed out in the administration technology developed by L.Ron.Hubbard.

There are other organizations that handle L.Ron Hubbard books etc but they to are run as separate organizations and all monies goes into running them and expansion. I know it all sounds boring and there is no drama or secret stories in it all but thats how it is.
Sorry mate there is no-one at the top creaming it all.

Doesn't it bother you in the slightest that a "church" is operating as a "business?" That in order to participate in church services, you are required to pay? Answer honestly, if a Scientologist can't pay and can't work at the org for some reason, be it injury, illness, whatever...would that person be allowed to participate in auditing and move up the bridge?

Why do staff members work so hard and regular scientologists pay hundreds of thousands of dollars to go up the bridge, but celebrities don't and then are called the most dedicated scientologists? Why do celebrities zoom up the bridge to high OT levels in just a few years, but regular dedicated and hard working Scientologists are stuck for decades? Why do regular Scientologists have to repeat Clear or OT levels they have already reached, paying thousands of dollars for courses to reach a status the church already said they had achieved?

Why do no clears have a perfect memory? Why do OTs get sick? Why can't OTs stop the protesters and negative publicity? Why do they say the CoS is the fastest growing religion, but the number of scientologists they tell you is the same number as decades ago? Why do they tell you Xenu and the space aliens don't exist, but sue for copyright infringement when someone publishes the OT3 story complete with aliens and Xenu? If it wasn't part of OT3 and just some fantasy, why does the CoS have the copyright? Why do you keep writing Scientology as if the name itself is a registered trademark of a company or brand? Is Islam a trademark? Is Mormanism? Is Hinduism? Why does Scientology belong to the weathy and not the people? If Scientology is the only way to save the planet, why is it so expensive and so exclusive? Why isn't it free and open to everyone?

Why can David Miscavage change L. Ron Hubbard's tech and his published works? Why does the IAS push so hard for donations that don't stop the protests or the negative publicity? Why are there more ex-Scientologists than current Scientologists? Why have most of Australia's high level OTs blown in the past two months?

Why have you gone on and on about the philosphy of Scientology, but failed to address any of the harassment, intimidation, and illegal activies the CoS has taken against Letterese that caused him to file the lawsuit?

There are places to wonder about these questions without having to identify yourself at all. Places where others with similar experiences and similar questions have gathered.

I heard him interviewed on 1010 AM Toronto about it - in conversation with john Moore. He gained entrance into the church by claiming he had a rich uncle who was looking for a tax shelter. They reassured him that faith wasn't an issue - just bring cash! They also assured him that they could 'cure gay'.

CLEARWATER - Shawn Lonsdale, whose one-man crusade against Scientology made him a public enemy of the church, was found dead at his home over the weekend in an apparent suicide. He was 39.
Police discovered Lonsdale's body at 12:20 p.m. Saturday after neighbors reported a foul odor. They found a garden hose stretched from the exhaust pipe of Lonsdale's car into a window of his home at 510 N Lincoln Ave., according to Clearwater police spokeswoman Elizabeth Daly-Watts.
Daly-Watts said there were no signs of foul play, and police found what appeared to be a suicide note. It was not immediately available.
The medical examiner's office said the official cause of death is pending toxicology reports.
It was a lonely end for a man who emerged out of nowhere in 2006 as a thorn in the side of the Church of Scientology.
For a few months in mid to late 2006, Lonsdale stood alone in downtown Clearwater beside a sandwich board that read "Cult Watch" in the heart of Scientology's religious headquarters.
Videocamera in hand, he taped hours and hours of footage: Scientology buildings, church staffers walking the streets, security guards watching his movements and verbal confrontations with Scientologists. He then edited them into a "pseudo-documentary" about Scientology that eventually aired on local cable television.
Lonsdale, who was never a Scientologist, was an odd nemesis. He had no connection to the church before arguing with a Scientologist over redevelopment issues at a Clearwater City Council meeting.
But the self-described loner stepped into his new role with enthusiasm. At night, he dropped fliers on the doorsteps of downtown businesses. On his lunch break, he parked his car across the street from the church's cafeteria with posters in his window that claimed people could find free versions of secret church texts on the Internet. He even picked church-related documents from piles of trash in front of a Scientology-owned business and posted some of the documents online.
The Church of Scientology and some its members fought back. They hired a private investigator to look into Lonsdale's background and found two misdemeanor convictions for lewd and lascivious conduct, both related to public sex with men, in 1999 and 2000.
They called Lonsdale's employer at a title company and his landlord and said that Lonsdale was a religious bigot, possibly dangerous.
In the fall of 2006, the church subpoenaed Lonsdale for a deposition, contending he was an agent of an anti-Scientology group that was legally barred from protesting in certain places downtown. Attorney Luke Lirot, who has battled Scientology in the past, came to Lonsdale's aid.
"I found him to be quite affable and truly a very intelligent man," Lirot said in an interview Monday. "I certainly hope that a very thorough investigation is conducted."
In the last year, though, the confrontation between Lonsdale and the Church of Scientology seemed to have run its course.
Lonsdale let his anti-Scientology Web site lapse. He posted less and less on anti-Scientology blogs. Church spokeswoman Pat Harney said it had been months since the church heard from Lonsdale.
Randy Payne, a former Scientologist, said Lonsdale found it impossible to be a full-time church critic and make a living.
Payne said that he last spoke to Lonsdale two months ago, and that Lonsdale had found steady work on the night shift at a local company, stocking shelves. He talked about going back to school and getting a private investigator's license.
"He was getting on with his life," Payne said. "He had every reason to live."
Landlord Joe Critchley said Lonsdale was an ideal tenant: He paid the $650 rent on time every month and he kept the place clean. The last time they talked, Feb. 1 or Feb. 2, Lonsdale seemed fine. "He would be one of the last people I would expect to commit suicide," Critchley said. "But you never know."

LOS ANGELES -- Los Angeles police say a security guard at a Scientology building has shot and killed a sword-wielding man.

Officer April Harding said the man approached the guard in the parking lot of the Scientology Celebrity Centre International around noon Sunday. Harding said the guard "felt threatened for his life" and fired at the unidentified man. He was pronounced dead at a hospital.

Homicide detectives have cordoned off the building in Hollywood to investigate.

A Scientology spokesperson could not be immediately reached for comment.

If you'll recall she got into a bit of trouble when she told a cancer patient to abandon his treatment in favour of some alternative therapy, and the man died.

Turns out that the fellow was involved back in the mid 90's. As a UCLA student he even helped harass a prof - Louis West - who was outspoken against the cult. West - an expert on brainwashing - described Sci as a "pyramid scheme". Majorski played attack dog for Sci, and hauled West into federal court with a number of nuisance suits. The reward for Majorski's loyalty is that somewhere along the line he lost his money and his mind. Naturally he became bitter about it. The auditing didn't work out, but Sci has a 'no refund' policy.
