Why is Lindsay Lohan famous???

Why is Lindsay Lohan so famous? The only movie anyone could actually sit through was Mean Girls (which I love). She has not contributed anything worthwhile before that or since then.

Yeah, but neither do a lot of celebs these days. I could ask the same thing about Paris, Kim K, Miley Cyrus, Mischa Barton, etc. Sadly, as long as your rich and pretty, or have a famous family, you can become the next big thing. Just my two cents, mind you.

like the above poster said, she's famous for being famous. the paparazzi hounds her...in turn she hounds THEM. tons of pics and available personal details create incessant gossip about her...it's like a self-propagating machine.

oh and the fact that she's an actress...albeit a mediocre one (with the exception mean girls) gives the attention more CREDIBILITY. as in ppl saying "hey at least she has TALENT"...unlike [paris, nicole richie, kim kardashian, etc etc].

This is not Lindsay's fault, the industry is to blame. Nowadays you don't have to accomplish anything to be famous. You just have to be willing to expose yourself constantly and entertain people with your private life.

Oh and who is responsible for that? It's us, the consumer. As long as we're interested in these hos, there will be paparazzi following them.

And as for Lindsay, well, at least she used to have talent. She was enchanting in Mean Girls and spectacular in Parent Trap. That's more than most of the people on my list have going for themselves.

Mary Kate and Ashley made all of those kid detective movies and have made hundreds of millions of dollars since Full House. They have definately been the most successful from that cast.
