Celebs anxious about HDTV...
...because it'll expose their outer ugliness as well.

Celebrities Looking Bad in HDTV:
Silly Talk or Serious Issue?
Hollywood is getting increasingly concerned about how its stars look in high-def.
By Phillip Swann
Washington D.C. (Dec. 4, 2005) -- Dr. Ruth Peters, an advice columnist
who often appears on NBC's Today Show, was recently asked by a mother
what she should say to her 12-year-old daughter who feels she can't
measure up to beautiful Hollywood celebrities.
Peters said: "Media idols really aren’t so perfect in person. Explain to
your daughter that camera angles, lighting and makeup help the stars to
look as they do. Even celebrities are now complaining about the “reality”
shown by HDTV — wrinkles and skin imperfections are even more visible with
the newest technology."
As you know, I have been the leader in explaining how celebrities look worse
-- or sometimes better -- in high-def. My commentaries have been featured
in hundreds of publications, including The New York Times, The Chicago
Tribune and on CNN, Fox News, MSNBC and Inside Edition.
My articles are written in a tongue-in-cheek style as I poke fun at
Hollywood's high and mighty. However, there is undeniably a serious side to
the issue as well. For decades, the Hollywood glamour machine has been able
to dictate who is considered beautiful and who is not. Using soft lighting in
TV and movie appearances, and magazine photo shoots, Hollywood has been
able to create the impression that some people are better looking than they
really are....(Recent examples: Cameron Diaz, pictured, and Britney Spears.)

The article continues at this link.
And I say it's about time some of these famous people lost their
jobs -- they behave like utter shit because the consuming
public thinks they're flawless, and now it turns out they aren't.
(Shoulda been nicer to your waiters at Spago, biatch!...)

Re: Celebs anxious about HDTV...
Didn't Cameron have a hissy fit because her skin looked bad on Conan or something? I think it's be awesome if she had to quit acting because the world found out that she's actually incredibly average, or possibly even ugly!

Didn't Katie Couric get a brow because of HDTV concerns? I don't see enough of the Today show to notice any changes.

Katie Couric looks bad even when she's not in HDTV. She wears cotton candy pink lipstick all of the time and it looks like hell on her.

Re: Celebs anxious about HDTV...
I went on an NBC studios tour last year and they talked about the HDTV phenomenon. I forget which male correspondent they were talking about, but when HDTV came out, all of a sudden there were viewers calling NBC and asking if he was sick. It never occurred to the makeup artists on the show that they would have to step up their game.

According to Eva Longoria's logic, Cameron would get MORE roles, because excessive beauty limits your roles. It's sad, really. *sniff*
I had a thimble of good feeling left for Cameron until I saw that picture. That is hideous & unforgiveable. That stupid ridiculous crocheted beret-thing, and that vulgar satin disco shirt with its neckline plunging down her scrawny chest, headlights a-blazing. GROSS. I am now an official Cameron Hater & would like my card, please.

Re: Celebs anxious about HDTV...
I've actually heard a few celebs mention HDTV showing their flaws. I think 1 was Katie Couric. She doesn't look too hot either way.

Re: Celebs anxious about HDTV...
i'd rather not have HDTV in my home anyway....i really don't WANT to be able to see celebs pizza faces clear as day. I dont see why Cameron would flip out anyway...it's not like anyone actually needs HDTV to be able to see the moonscape on her face!

Re: Celebs anxious about HDTV...
You know, I actually feel a bit sorry for Cameron, everyones really harsh about her. Its not her fault she has disgusting rancid looking plukes on her face, or that she talks with the most gormless manly voice, or that she has the figure of a 12 year old boy.
Oh wait - yes it is!!! Bwahahahaah
