Are a few of the stories here getting a little stupid? If I wanted to read stuff that was completely false, I would just go get a fiction novel at the library. Examples, all of the false crap about Britney, and today, how Victoria Beckham is pregnant...I have searched the internet for this, and not one word of it anywhere else...are we starting to make stuff up here just to keep it interesting?? Gossip has it's allure because it might have truth to it, but if it is completely false what is the draw? Anyone else got this vibe lately? Also another grips (sorry all I don't know why it's just my day to gripe) Why are we ripping on celebs for no reason (example The whore and the bore wed) is that necessessary???

With a gossip site, I take everything with a few grains of salt.

The Victoria Beckham preggo rumor was sourced as belonging to a blog. It was reported from someone supposedly at their concert who heard Geri announce Posh was preggo. Is it real? Who knows, but everything on this site is just a jumping off point for discussion among ourselves. I don't think many people here use it for serious news gathering, they just want to chat and snark on celebs.

This is all for fun, nothing serious about it.

Yes. There do seem to be more crap stories. Certain blogs need to be ditched as sources. Some people will say anything to drive up their traffic and increase their ad revenue.

Back when it used to be just the National Enquirer and Star, these stories were few and far between and so outrageous that people could see the lies for what they were.

But nowadays, with what, like 500 gossip mags and thousands upon thousands of gossip blogs, people aren't just happy re-reporting the news. They have to generate it (oft times by outright lying), otherwise they risk becoming irrelevant. Which is why a lot of them have paps chasing down celebs trying to catch them doing absoutely anything. And why we probably have lots of completely untrue stories, or complete exaggerations of a small kernel of truth.

that's right.And sometimes posting these stories,no matter if they are silly,are fun for a chuckle.And hey,sometimes the ridiculous ones turn out to be true,like Britney stealing a lighter

I've been saying that for months, and I was shat on from a great height and called a "fantard," among other things, for pointing it out. It's still true, tho.

Yes, the stories can be crap, but so are the stories in magazines. I'm glad I'm not the idiot who buys them anymore.
